UT Transfer 2014

<pre><code> I'm completing my application right now, which is due March 1st, for transfer for the Fall of 2014. I am currently at Austin Community College. I applied to the UT nursing school last year (my senior year in high school) with a 97.7 GPA and ranked 48th out of 377 with much involvement in the school (Cheer captain, student council, national honor society) but was capped so I decided to go to ACC in hopes of transferring for my sophomore year.
I currently have a 4.0 at ACC, and will finish this semester with 30 credit hours and a 4.0 as well, or a 3.8 at the worst. I am applying to College of Liberal Arts as a psychology major. I am on President's Honor Roll, in Phi Theta Kappa, have a strong resume with over 1,000 hours of community service, but essays that aren't too great (writing isn't my strength).
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of my chances of being accepted? I've heard that Psychology is very competitive. Also, what would you recommend my 2nd choice major be? I was thinking maybe College of Undergraduate Studies (if they don't already automatically consider transfer apps like they do for freshmen), Education, or Social Work? I'm hoping to find a second choice major that is not too competitive and that I have a shot of getting accepted to. Please help!! Any advice or opinions help!
