UT Turing Chances

I haven’t seen anyone talking about Turing, and I don’t really know anyone who got in. Can someone who knows about the Turing program help me out? I’m pretty worried right now because I’ve yet to get anything back from UT beyond auto admit and almost all my friends have gotten majors and interviews already. Turing is my goal program at UT, so any help would be appreciated.

Essays- Spent on a lot of time on the Honors essays. I don’t have an opinion on them anymore because I read them too many times, but I think they were pretty good.

Rec- My lin alg/calc teacher and CS teacher. I’ve had both of them for 3+ years and did well in their classes (active participant as well) so I think they will be good. I also got my English teacher from last year who I bothered a lot outside of class, just in case.

Thank you guys!

@ryanyz10 From what I’ve seen over the past couple of years, I think you are certain to get in to CS, and I think you have a good shot at Turing. Hard to say more than that because Turing is incredibly competitive and they don’t take a lot of students. Even with your great stats and qualifications, it’s possible that you will not hear until late Feb. CS is now one of the most competitive majors and most decisions come out late. Good luck!

I agree with @TexasMom2017 above. I think you have an excellent chance to get into CS and a good shot at Turing. The 800 in math helps. I will say based on last year, if you have not been accepted into CS by the end of December, you probably will not be asked to join Turing. They had acceptances into CS both in mid November and early to mid December and the letters for Turing were sent about a week later. Good luck, you have excellent stats but it is an extremely competitive program. You should know soon.

Thanks to both of you!
