Hey everyone. I’m @rayosunshyne and I’ve been accepted to UT Austin. Please don’t let that turn you off from commenting.
I’m pretty well-versed in their admissions process, subtract from that how they actually say “I want you, not you.”
If there are questions about waves (I can’t give specific dates because I’m not psychic, but I can help narrow down,
ease the stress etc.), portal stuff, orientation, SSD, OOS, in-state, etc. I’m here for you. Comment on.
I’ve heard a rumor that UT releases a lot of admission decisions for priority students on the 3rd Friday of January. Any merit to that claim? As well, any idea of when Biology/Biochemistry majors would hear back? You may not be psychic, but a lucky guess can go a long way. Thanks!
@UTBioDude All priority applicants are supposed to hear back by Feb 1. This leaves speculation that the wave will be either this Friday or the next. However, my guess is that if UT stays in time with the third Friday of the month deal, it will be today (1/19). Some think that it won’t be until Feb 1 itself because they doubt UT altogether. But I don’t think that UT is going to break the Friday habit just because of priority applicants
@UTBioDude as far as bio/Biochem, I’ve heard people getting in ever since November, so the college of Natural sciences is definitely reviewing and not holding back like some majors do. Don’t fret, spots probably haven’t filled. The last waves were small. Were you a priority applicant?
I applied to UT austin for the priority deadline. I applied to the communications major. Do you think I will hear back today, 01/19/18?
Similar question to the other commenters but with Anthropology as a major instead, oh and is it possible to be deferred since I applied within the priority deadline (well the Houston one priority deadline)?
I apologize. As I said, my hunches aren’t always correct. However, admissions on allegedly said decisions would be coming out ON February 1. (Regardless of major if you are priority or HH Victim)
As far as being deferred, their website says nothing of it. I have never heard of anyone being deferred. However, priority is new, so it could be possible. But knowing Texas, they most likely won’t. They have a reputation of being a one-and-done decision school. Let’s hope for the best. @JessiHopes
