Accepted into both for engineering college. Which school is a better choice and why. Out of state for both.

Which engineering major?

Electrical & computer systems

Your job prospects are the same coming out of both of those schools. They are both great, so just pick where you want to live for four years.

Two great schools. Austin is near hill country and San Diego is by the coast. Economy is quite a bit better in Austin so that may be a deciding factor. California has silicon valley, but Austin has a booming tech sector that’s on the come up. Tough choice, but in this case, I think you need to be considering non-academic factors such as cost, weather, economy, and overall fit.

bump please
I also got accepted into both schools, but UCSD gave me a scholarship while UT didnt give me anything.
cost
UT ~35k /year
UCSD ~ 22K /year
Is UT worth the extra 13k?
Thank you

No…not in this case. UCSD is very strong.

Is UCSD aerospace engineering program any good?

UCSD aerospace ranks highly at #23. If I were you I would go with UCSD. Austin and San Diego are on my short list of cities I want to live in and both schools are strong in many of the same engineering/math subjects from what I’ve researched.

I’m a rabid Longhorn fan, but I vote for UCSD, also. It’s highly ranked and a lot less expensive!

I guess UCSD will most likely be my choice, unless my parents decide to buy a condo to establish residency.
