I was trying to make a decision on which of these schools I should head to next year. As I do plan on going to med school I want to save as much money as I could, but I want to make sure that the one I go to is able to provide an easier path for me into med school. I’m also trying to factor in research opportunities into my decision as well. Also I’m a Texas resident that lives in Dallas. My major at either one of these schools would be either bio-medical engineering or neuroscience.
As a national merit finalist my scholarship at each of these schools is:
UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) - Full tuition, $8000 stipend per year , and $2000 for study abroad (Almost a full ride)
Baylor - Full Tuition
Texas A&M - $40,000(not per year) over the 4 years (cost per year is about $22,470)
Alabama - Full tuition, $3500 stipend per year, $2000 for study abroad, and an iPad (idc but whatever)
OU - Full Tuition, $5500 per year, and $2000 for study abroad.
Personally I am leaning towards UTD but idk if its as recognized compared to the others, or which one would provide an easier path for me into med school. I was wondering if I could hear some thoughts about the potential opportunities from each school, which major I should choose, and what school you think I should pick.
Please let me know.
