UTD oos waiver with AES Scholarship

HI I just applied to UNiversity of Texas at Dallas as an oos student. My only way of goin there is if i can get oos tuition waived. I understand they will do this if you get one of the AES. It says online that the average ACT score for the lowest one is 30. I currently have a 27 and think I am maxed out. Is there any chance of me, with a 27, gettin the lowest AES so I can get instate tuition? thanks

It doesn’t sound likely.

You might want to consider some colleges a tier below UTD, such as UT-Arlington, UT-Tyler, or Texas State.

UTD is not officially Tier 1, UTD is in the same tier as UT-Arlington (moving up quickly) and Texas State.

The only tier 1 public universities in TX are UT, A&M, and UH

@NuScholar, I don’t think you understand how merit aid works. For these colleges, here are the 75th percentile SAT scores:

UT Dallas - 1370
UT Arlington - 1200
UT Tyler - 1160
Texas State - 1130

This is a huge difference and merit aid will certainly be easier to get at the lower tier colleges.
