<p>I'm starting to get around to my final list of schools and was suddenly curious. How many of you CCers are planning to apply UVA '08. Also how many people from ur school got in. My school just to start, about 10. Just to keep us motivated or get us depressed.</p>
<p>I'm applying. My school has only had 4 graduating classes and only one person has applied to UVA. In any case, she's attending next year so it's 1/1. Hopefully I won't be the reason why it becomes 1/2.</p>
<p>We had someone from our school turned down at UVA and accepted to West Point this year, if I recall correctly. That is very surprising. West Point has something like a 10% acceptance rate.</p>
<p>I'll be applying this coming year. Nobody from my school applied from class of '07, but 2 (maybe 1 more) applied from '06 and 2 got in. One of those was my brother. Another guy got in from class of '04 with weaker stats but his dad is on the UVA board. As out of staters, they were all top 10% with 1350+ SATs or 30+ ACTs...except for the '04 person.</p>
<p>I am applying. I don't think many people in my school applied. In any case, we have one who is going. He isn't very bright but is a crazy good wrestler.</p>
<p>I'm probably applying, but I still have to narrow down my list, so I'm not certain yet.</p>

<p>No way that's from the University of Virginia, UVA's called a public Ivy. Its got a 37 pecent acceptance rate, 41 with ed. A strange figure from the college board is that while 953 students were accepted ed, only 7 enrolled. </p>
<p>I think that's from chronicidal's high school, not for UVA total. And the numbers indicate that the high school is TJHSST, which has a ton of people going to UVA.</p>
<p>im at a school in northern virginia and about 15 got in from my school, all the best of the senior class. One has deferred enrollment to go do community service in Germany, almost all are at least semi finalists for the national scholars thingy (SAT score award). UVA is the best school in VA and my school is one of the best in the state.</p>
<p>I personally am headed to virginia tech after being rejected to UVA but i'd say about 120 out of my class applied to the school, and about 15 got in (all recieving awards at the senior awards assembly for community service, best french student, best math student, best english...etc.). I would caution applicants to realize that UVA is a school that may recieve stats such as 1250 on the SAT (out of 1600) but they get in because they cured cancer in darfur while feeding a community of 5,000 and ridding the land of pollution.
