UVA EA Deferred

Hi all,
I am an instate applicant to UVA and was deferred. And I was hoping to get some insight or advice. I am from NOVA and applied as a biology major.

When I applied to UVA I applied with a 4.27 and a 1270 SAT, however when I send my updated transcript, my GPA will have gone up to a 4.31 and my SAT went up in December to a 1340 but they did not consider it for EA. During last semester alone I had a 4.65 which is why my overall GPA went up .04

In high school I have taken 13 AP classes, am president of Science NHS, president of Health and Medical Club, member of NHS, am a Girl Scout, and I run a successful non-profit.

How likely is it that I can get in during Regular Decision, any past experiences are helpful and is there something more I can be doing like writing a letter of intent or having my counselor call my admissions rep?

Looks like your stats have gone up! That’s amazing, and colleges definitely want to see that. However, I am unsure that your stats, even updated, will be able to get you into UVA.

Regardless, we know that UVA is a school that relies on a holistic review, so if your EC’s, awards and essays are good: I am sure you will get in.

Good luck!

It’s great that your gpa and test scores went up. Did you submit your higher SAT score?

If your school uses Naviance that will give you the best guidance to your chances with the new test score/higher gpa.

Good luck.

@kobe248224 yes crossing my fingers but staying realistic!!

@Mwfan1921 yes and i did submit my higher score and my school uses naviance so i will be sure to look! thank you

When do we find out our final decision?

I think we are now in the regular decision pool which I believe gives them until April 1. Not sure if they will come out earlier, hope so!
