My essays were pretty good and I assume my recommendations were great. I also have dual citizenship in Panama (not sure if this makes a difference)
What are the chances I get accepted to the College of Arts and Sciences?
I live in VA too. I keep hearing anecdotes about other in state kids who in previous years were deferred and then admitted after May 1. I guess a number of people offered admission ultimately go somewhere else so some spots open. You are a good student. I would think you would get in but who can really say? The wait must be agonizing. Have you been admitted anywhere else yet? Good luck.
Yeah UVA is my #1 choice, so waiting 3 months to hear back EA just to have to wait another 2 months for RD is really painful. I actually just found out last night that I was accepted to Penn State College of Engineering, which is exciting but not my first choice, and I’m still waiting to hear from the rest. UVA is the dream, so fingers crossed & thank you!!
Your grades and test scores seem competitive, but not exceptional among UVA applicants. If I had to guess, I’d predict the top 10% class rank and the upward trend will be enough and you will get in RD. Don’t lose hope! But I’m not an admissions dean, so my guess is worth exactly what you paid for it. Best of luck to you.
I’d say you have a good chance since you’re in-state. Your upward trend in grades and higher SAT scores will definitely look good to admissions officers. Good luck! Chance me back?
