Hey @LaVolpe don’t know if this will help with the whole “Accept Admission”
Thing but I found it on an old transfer thread and thought it would at least put things into perspective. Looks like the whole tab thing is truly just a default. But I could be wrong. Look on page 323 of this link http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17137_01/psft/acrobat/cs9lsss-b0310.pdf
@Edu_rms AH! I think that’s a very good sign. Do you think I haven’t received any financial aid to-dos because I never submitted my CSS profile? I only submitted my regular fafsa profile (I was unaware of the CSS profile ugh)
From old threads, it seems like anyone who had financial aid to-dos got in.
@UVAfan23 Absolutely. You needed to submit both CSS and Financial aid. Looking at your stats you have a pretty decent chance, in my opinion. I was reading an article that said usually for many universities their system separates applications automatically with the gpa set (for UVA it’s 3.5 or higher). That is why I feel like getting the check early is a good sign. At the end of the day no one know the truth or the things happened behind the scenes so anything can happen! 19 days!
@Jouuuu No, I didn’t. My application was just completed last week. (It was a huge back and forth with trying to find my SAT scores that were lost on the way) but what did the email say? I feel like I’m very far behind.
If anyone was wondering about the MyUVA thing, I was looking on the past chats and what it means is when under the check list on the MYUVA website there is a box that says “accept offer of admissions.” People saw it the day that the results came out. (May 1st)
“Thank you for submitting your application to the University of Virginia and the McIntire School of Commerce. We are currently in the process of reviewing applications. The McIntire School sometimes contacts applicants directly requesting additional information, so we encourage you to monitor your email account that you provided on your Common Application”
Sincerely,
Office of Undergraduate Admission
University of Virginia
@Jouuuu Oh just kidding I did get that email on April 5th. Thank God. I thought I was extremely far behind. Do you know the acceptance rate to the McIntire School?
@Jouuuu hmmm I was reading old threads and it seems like lots of people got some sort of financial aid email (I think it was financial aid) and everyone who got it was accepted. Makes sense, because why would a school who rejected you want you to further submit more papers? I unfortunately haven’t received such email. I received one back in mid March just a generic looking one saying that the CSS/FAFSA deadline was coming up and that I should check my SIS for needed documents. I’m so nervous now. I wish I had To-Dos on my SIS lol
@UVAfan23 The ‘more papers’ may be all the W2s and 1040s needed with the CSS profile. I know my current roommate is applying as well and he was contacted about submitting them but his application isn’t even complete. (A community college goofed and sent his transcript for a dual-enrollment English class to our current school instead of UVA).
@NjTransfer2016 The stats for last year for external transfers were: Mean 3.9GPA, 1233SAT. They extended offers to 28/230 applicants and only 24 accepted. Last year’s stats are on the commerce page in the UVA website - google it.
@UVAfan23 Well, I’m not putting too much merit on this e-mail since it’s not necessarily asking for me to submit anything additional. I figured this was sent out to all McIntire hopefuls. I also haven’t received a check mark yet, so I have no idea what to think. It’s better to just hang on and wait, everything’s out of our control.
Just got off the phone with student financial services and asked them about applicants getting To-Dos on their SIS and he said that’s just something they put in the system as thet review applicants, I guess as a first come first serve basis. But I still think it’s correlated to admissions and whoever has it is accepted.
I know lots of kids who got financial aid documents in previous threads on their to dos were the ones who got in. But we will if it’s any different this year. Hang in there future Hoos!
@snp2896 I submitted my app a few hours before the deadline. The fact that I haven’t received a check mark is probably related to that, but it doesn’t matter. The check mark is not indicative if we are going to get in or not, don’t reach too much into it.
@lowrancc yup. Even if it did mean something, then so what? We have zero control. There’s actually no point to fret over it. If we don’t make it, we don’t. It’s not the end of the world. We can at least say we tried. Let’s all relax and think positively :D.
