Oh the irony of the CSS profile lol. And yes @shiica95, I don’t remember $9 but I remember it being $16 per each school you send the profile to. It’s an annoying application to do, but well worth it. I sent it soooo late (2 days ago) I’m a big procrastinator and I also wasn’t aware of a CSS lol.
I am so late though… I kind of don’t want to waste those money if I am not getting anything. The to do page says that if it’s after March 1st, I won’t be getting anything. What do you think? Should I just do it regardless?
this is what it says “This site is secure and designed for the passing of confidential information. When you submit your application you will be charged a $9.00 application fee and a reporting fee of $16.00 for each college or scholarship program selected. You can pay with a valid credit or debit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or VISA), or Fee Payment Code.” such a rip off!
@UVAfan23 me too!! I did not know of CSS profile before lol
Also, another question. Has anyone ever deal with trying to be in state from being considered an out of state student? Is it a department in VA that make the decision or is it individual school?
@shiica95 I would personally go ahead and do it just to be on the safe side. It’s late, but this is money that’s going to you if there is still some left from the university. Spoke to a financial aid person at UVA the day I sent in my profile and they told me its first come first serve basis, so you might still get some aid if you get in. It’s not merit-based. And you can submit the app to just UVA if you want. I was charged $40 or so but that’s because I sent it to more than one school.
By the way, you have to-dos on your SIS???
@UVAfan23 yeah but it’s just the CSS.
and ok. Thats true. I guess it’s worth the investment. do you know what other school needs it?
@shiica95 so under your to-dos on your UVA SIS it asks you to submit your CSS?
@UVAfan23 yeah, the only item in the to do list box is CSS profile.
Oh wow @shiica95 then I don’t wanna give you false hopes but it could be a good sign because 2 days ago when I hadn’t sent in my CSS I never had a thing on my to-dos lol
@UVAfan23 ME TOO!! I didn’t see anything until I read that you had to do it so I went to check if I had done it/ have to do it too… and sure enough, it popped up on my to do list. I think my to do list was empty for awhile and when I went there a few nights ago I did not see/ notice something on my to do list. I hope it is a good sign haha or maybe its just that they just reviewed ours and saw that we’re missing it so they put it on our to do list… who knows? lol
@shiica95 no no no lol. I should’ve reworded myself differently. What I meant to say was that even before I had not sent in my CSS I did not have any to-dos showing that I needed to send a CSS, which for me would be a bad thing, because if SIS was asking you to send a CSS under your to-dos I would imagine that’s a good sign (they don’t ask people to send things unless they’re admitted) I could very well be wrong about this, but it just make sense in my head to ask people for to-dos/CSS if they’re going to be admitted, as opposed to me where I was never asked for anything in my to-dos before or after sending my profile. I hope that made sense lol.
@UVAfan23 I got what you mean the first time… I think I’m the one who has to reword my reply lol I meant like yeah this can be a good sign since I also did not have anything on my to do list until this CSS shows up a few days ago. On the other hand I’m just saying what if this just means that they have reviewed the applications and are sending notifications to those they realized have not made a CSS profile yet… I’m just being pessimistic, trying to find other reasons why it could be just suddenly showing up now to not get my hopes up hahaha I’m scared of the disappointments if I don’t get in X_X
@shiica95 Ohhh okay! Haha. Maybe so. Admissions is so weird. Sometimes I wonder if they purposely screw with us and laugh about it among their colleagues and other deans in Peabody Hall lmao. And don’t worry, we will know soon enough. Someone previously mentioned about decisions coming out this month on the 29th which is probable because it lands on a Friday and UVA loves sending decisions out on Fridays. I know for a fact if you see a “accept offer of admissions” link in your myUVA page you are definitely in mine still has the transcript, app, myUVA and testing checkboxes lol
Two more weeks!!! or maybe… two more weeks and a weekend!!! So close though
To those who are constantly thinking and stressing about the next two weeks, there’s so many things to distract yourself with Like others have mentioned, dedicating all that extra energy towards your studies is the most productive. There’s also some interesting new games on Steam like Hyper Light Drifter and new episodes of Kimmy Schmidt: Unbreakable on Netflix. Long walks while listening to music are great too since the weather is warmer now. Hang in there everyone, best of luck!
@SamoyedScience While we’re talking about shows, check out “11.22.63” on Hulu. James Franco plays a guy who goes back in time to stop the JFK assassination. Very interesting!
James Franco?! :x
I wish one of the admission officers would leak the admissions lol
James Frenco is everything >>>> lol. He was supposed to be at UVA this weekend but they had to cancel it due to some conflicts
