College GPA: 3.92
Completed 48 credits
Involved in several on-campus organizations
I believe I have fairly good essays
1 recommendation from a math teacher
Taking a tough course load and not sure whether or not to send midterm report, probably would be around a 3.5 or 3.6
Hi guys! I’m so glad I found this. I’m applying as a second year transfer from a VCCS. My stats:
HS GPA: 3.6, was enrolled full-time in college for my junior and senior years
College GPA: 3.5 with 69 credits (will likely end the semester with a 3.75)
Applying for: Arts and Sciences
Essays: Questionable. Not my best work, not my worst.
Recommendations: 3
Extracurriculars: three ongoing volunteer projects, one leadership position in marketing, one political activism volunteer project (last fall), NHS for 11th and 12th grade, and my job (I work part-time and hold a leadership/trainer position)
Not entirely sure, I called the admissions office last week and they said it was completely optional. I’m just going to send mine in because I’m taking a few eight week courses that might boost my GPA.
Did you guys log into your UVa SIS yet? I just checked mine, and it says application “incomplete” due to the fact that they have not yet received my transcripts, but I sent them several weeks ago.
I just did! They said that since I just submitted my app two days ago, it will take awhile for them to have all of my info in the system. They said it’s nothing to worry about!
I would like to know how to check what stuff they’ve received (so far) on SIS for one’s application. I understand there is a To-Do List but after it’s completed it disappears. It would be reassuring if there was a place to check exactly what they’ve received/what has been completed.
Was just wondering if any of you will be willing to speculate my chances.
Stats:
High School GPA of 3.67 with many AP courses taken, messed up big time freshman and sophomore year but got myself together by junior year and graduated senior year with a 4.64
Last semester I luckily ended with a 4.0 and after this semester, I will have 33 credits total.
Submitting my ACT (no writing) info:
English: 32
Math: 31
Reading: 28
Science: 31
I am currently in George Mason University’s engineering program for CE. I plan on transferring to UVA’s SEAS in CS.
I have two recommendations from my CS professor and Engineering professor from last semester.
I am applying to transfer to UVA as a sophomore. However, I noticed online a list of "transfer course requirements’ that included lots of classes I haven’t taken, like advanced math and science courses. I was wondering if any of you had noticed that list of transfer course requirements and what your thoughts are? Do you think not having taken the recommended courses will significantly hurt my chances?
