UVA Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

@collegeapp14 It (Financial Aid Certification) was on my to-list, not any financial aid specific list. I submitted it and it went away.

@mualphabot does that mean im rejected? if i dont have it?

@Kvadhan789 Huh? No, of course not. At least I have no idea, since I don’t have access to the information needed in order to say so. I’m just speculating that it’s a good sign because that’s what I want it to be, haha. You can check around previous threads to make your own speculations if you want/are as obsessed as I am. I really, really would like to attend UVA this summer and next semester.

Has anyone not heard anything in regards to FA? I submitted FAFSA, CSS, and the app (via fax) all by the deadline, but I didn’t receive anything from UVA saying they got it, etc. When I click on FA on SIS nothing shows… says “no financial aid information found.”

@scarletred Mine says “inquiry access denied” which I think means it is there I just cant see it.

@mualphabot had you submitted your financial aid cert by the deadline (april 1st?)

@scarletred I thought so, but I guess not since it showed up on SIS 4/15. I submitted it two days after.
I think it was a good sign to see it, since it means my information was sent to SFS. Also, the deadline for submission was after decisions are posted.

My family’s CSS, Tax Forms, and FASFA were though.

blah, i think that means i was rejected. No financial aid information implies it wasn’t even processed, inquiry access denied implies it exists, but you don’t have read privileges.

calling it now. rejected. applied as EE with a 3.82 and all prereqs. OOS

@scarletred Nothing is official until 5/1. I wouldn’t say that so fast. I checked the thread and there were people who didn’t have it that got both waitlisted or accepted! So good luck!

I was freaking out because I did not see any of the financial aid, but then I realized I never submitted any financial aid forms because I probably wouldn’t get any :stuck_out_tongue:

@iamworried264 You should submit it anyways! Who knows, you might get some.

@iamworried264 Yeah same. The only reason I wish that I had submitted anything is that it could give me an indication of acceptance haha

I’m confused- what does the “to-do” list have to do with acceptance? I don’t have anything on it because I submitted every single financial aid document before the deadline. I had my college transcript on there for a little bit but I submitted that and it went away. Why is it good to have stuff on the list?

So hypothetically, if you get accepted from UVA and wanted to take summer classes then would you have to do them at UVA or could you still do them at your current college?

@machlan What do you see when you click on the financial aid tab?

Is anyone submitting the FA Certification now, or will you wait for decisions to be released?

Has anyone been able to access their uva email?

@ames99, you were supposed to submit it by april 1, but seems like it might be an indication of acceptance at this point if you’re getting correspondence on it.

@machlan Here’s the (speculative) idea:

Applications are submitted → the committee reviews → if you are admitted, your information is sent to FA if you applied for it → Then, if Financial Aid (SFS) requests documentation or updates the financial aid information, you were admitted.

The reasoning is far from rigorous, but it makes sense. Ask yourself the following:

Would financial aid services waste time with an applicant who wasn’t admitted?
Why would the deadlines for documentation go past the decision release date?
Does it make sense for financial aid information for a denied applicant to the updated?

The argument for that speculation is purely under the assumption that UVA admission runs efficiently, which I think is a fair assumption.

However, everything I’ve said up until this point about speculation and whatnot doesn’t really say anything about admission for certain. If they wanted, they could very well update everyone’s financial aid stuff regardless of admission and without looking into what they’ve submitted.

On a side note, I entirely regret posting anything about that since it’s a) pointless and b) just stresses people out more. The only thing I can do now is remember and learn from it, sorry everyone.

@ames99 I submitted it as soon as it was requested.
