I had no financial aid update or change at all. I know a few people who have the “Inquiry Access Denied” so hopefully all of this checks out today. However, based on that tweet, I’m very confident those of you with “inquiry access denied” will get in.
If you don’t - please comment to kill this theory.
@uvahopeful6014 I also did not apply for financial aid because I am in-state and know I would not qualify. I do feel like I remember a few months back seeing inquiry access denied somewhere on sis, but I can’t find it now. I guess we will just have to wait until 5.
@uvahopeful6014 Same reason for me lol. I never applied because I knew I wouldn’t get anything. But in all honesty we are so close (3 hours away) from decisions so at this point does speculation about financial aid regarding acceptance matter lol.
Also I’m really hoping that they actually don’t stick to their word and give it on May 1st. All that hype would be for nothing if they were not to give decisions today.
My only thought that they would do it at 5 today is so they don’t have to answer a bunch of calls since the office is closed on weekends, that’s just my theory for why it usually happens on fridays
It can only be today, Monday or Tuesday. I highly doubt that they would release decisions on a Monday or Tuesday, especially given that it’s basically never happened.
The UVA student financial services FB page says “If SIS says “Inquiry Access Denied,” that just means your award isn’t ready yet. Check your To Do List for outstanding items” and “2 reasons you may not have a preliminary award yet: 1. You didn’t submit ALL docs by 3/1; 2. There are items on your SIS To Do List.” While these messages are intended for first-year applicants, I believe that it holds true for transfers (except the 3/1 FA deadline). So I guess the theory that has been conspired could only be true if the financial aid office only starts looking at student’s financial aid applications after they have received admission. The FB page also stipulates that the financial aid awards are “preliminary” for first year and transfer students, which I assume means that they are contingent on admission.
The only reason why I’m not too sure about the financial aid theory: I started seeing “Inquiry Access Denied” and “Awards Access Denied” around the first week of April, after I submitted a few FA forms and tax returns that were on my to-do list. I just didn’t think they would review my application that early on… Meh
I’m in state and submitted all of my financial aid documentation a while back. I had inquiry access denied on my profile around that same time, but now it says “there is no financial aid information found”. Also, does everyone have a subsection under advisor on the right side that says “program advisor”?
