UVa Status???

Haters?

I do not see how it is applicable here. I could have said that WM is a school for UVA rejects and that there is nothing to do in Williamsburg etc... I did not however as I like WM. I said that I really hope to go to UVA (McIntire) rather than WM's Business school. I was PUZZLED because the girl tried hard to get into UVA, she did not get in last year... now since she did get into UVA, she will not go to WM? WM decisions were mailed out awhile ago...why wait, and post this, just to tease us? Anyhow, I am sure you were not trying to start an argument here, as neither was I. I did not mean to hurt your feelings WMrocks and others.

My reasons for wanting to go to UVA however are:

McIntire
UVA is possibly the best all around college. Top 3 definitely. Including Ivies. The city, the diversity, the history, sports, resources, you name it UVA has it.

WM is great too. Many people prefer it over UVA, however it is not what I was aiming for and I might consider Cornell over it if I don’t get into UVA.

However, I look forward to seeing you at UVA this fall =)

Oh ok..sorry...i didn't mean to come across the way I did...is just we have a handful of people at W&M that hate it already and it bugs me...and yeah you make good points about the business school at UVA, IT is way better than the one at W&M, however, mentioning that W&M is a school for UVA rejects is far from true, leave that title for Vtech or JMU. I also hope I see you in the fall at UVA though :)

::sigh::

Neboola.. out of curiosity, what are your stats. Mine are posted in several UVA threads including the transfer roster thread. I was just curious since I am also applying directly to McIntire.

Cool!

"The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters."

Coooooool!

to wmrocks:
it changes to the may1 thing

oh ok! I find it hard to believe that no one else from this forum has been accepted except the Jenny girl...esp. because some of you have 4.0s in college and stuff and I KNOW you guys will be accepted...Do they mail the letters at home or at school?

I came home this weekend to I'm def. going to check my mail-box tomorrow when I get to school...

::sigh::

wmrocks, I have a 4.0 and I don't think I'll get in for the following reasons:

1) A 4.0 is about all I have...I don't have any noteable extracurriculars and I didn't have time to get any recommendations because,
2) I submitted my application in the middle of March (long story...I had the dean's permission)
3) Because I had to complete the application in two days, I fear my essays are nothing but maundering balderdash (I use words like that)
4) HS stats are bad (3.2, 1150 SAT)
5) Course load has been light these past four semesters: 14, 13, 10, 13.

See what I mean? I'll probably get waitlisted.

My stats? Why I have 34DD. Tall about 6'2

NVCC (alexandria camp) 3.9 all A's after the first semester
PTK, Presidential Scholar, National Dean's List all that useless stuff maybe some more useless stuff.
I know you can't tell it by my posts but I am a bit older so i got five years of work experience at meaningful places.
I am also foreign, but unfortunately not from anywhere that would make a difference, so scratch that...

just im if you got more questions

neboola, awesome!

I think everybody has about the same stats 3.5+, 1100+ some EC or JRE. I think the essays will play a huge role, but more so catching somebody in a right mood.

Hmm... i am not sure why but my TV is on "best in show" (the dog competition). I feel like a dog. I guess lifting the tail is the equivalent of looking at the hs grades.

if essays play a huge role, i'll die definitely.....

on the site that was posted somewhere earlier that gave transfer stats, it said
"D11. Describe additional requirements for transfer admission, if applicable:

Emphasis placed on previous college courses and performance. Courses examined to determine parity and whether they meet distribution requirement. Minimum 3.3 GPA recommended. Entering junior transfers not completing area requirements must do so in University of Virginia summer school prior to enrollment in fall. "

so it looks like they look at your courses/GPA the most and maybe your essays aren't THAT important (otherwise they would have said it there, right?)....and just because everyone in this forum has around the same stats (all like 15 of us) doesn't mean everyone who applied does

Very interesting forum!

Oh my various Gods.

Oh my God indeed...is some1 trying to play with our minds?

definately....sick joke! SICK SICK SICK!!!

Do not jump to conclusions just yet; adcoms have been known to lurk and even post in these forums.

I highly doubt Mr. Roberts would drop by at such a stressful moment.

It's also a little too strange that Jenn and Mr. Roberts both just "found" this thread and started posting their very first posts here.

Highly doubtful.

ok if you guys with 4.0s-3.9s don't get in...I WILL DEF. NOT!!!!!!!!!!! I only have a 3.3 :(

Oh man...looks like I'll never get out of my colonial settlement...

::sigh::

Good evening to our new visitors, real or not. Are you? Don't answer. Actually, how about this one. Did I get in?

So I was trying to take my mind of this topic and decided to switch from a dog show to a movie... Spanglish. Did anybody see it? Well the whole movie is about this girl applying to Princeton. The movie opens up with the admission department just flipping through the applications and stopping after the first sentence... that made me feel real good…

Does everything in my life connect to this decision?
