I am looking to gauge some information about transferring to UVA for the Fall of 2020.
Little bit about me:
- Currently attend Purdue University in Computer Engineering and I am in my first semester of sophomore year
- GPA first semester of Junior year was 3.3 and then dropped to a 2.67 second semester due to joining NROTC, which I later was forced to drop, leaving a gpa of 2.97
- High school GPA of 4.211 and 1360 SAT
- I have interned at the United Stated Department of Defense and will be returning this upcoming summer
- I was a part of the Purdue Formula SAE team and the Purdue cycling team
- I participated in the Purdue EPICS team which emphasizes community engagement through engineering
I am curious on whether or not I would even be competitive given the GPA. I know it is low compared to the averages but do they take into account things like school rigor (Purdue has been known to be more rigorous on grading than most schools) or internships and clubs as well? I don’t know whether it is worth it to apply if I am so far below average that I do not have a chance to get in.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
