Hi! I think you have a very good chance at UVA/ UNC. Tougher to get into OOS so I’d try to retake the ACT (especially since it was a time issue) but your stats seem to be on par. Good luck!

ACT is pretty weak UNC out of state is a beast to get into, you need to have a 32+ or 1400+ (I should know I live in NC…) UVA is also hard to get into out of state but not quite as hard. With a higher ACT/SAT you’d have a shot.

I think you have a good chance at UVa. You fit UNC reasonably well, besides the slightly lower ACT. Your GPA and rank are great, if the 3 APs you took were the only ones you could feasibly take. Overall, I believe you’ll get into either if you write good essays. :D

Yeah pretty much what the rest said. Try retaking the ACT and aiming for a 32+. Won’t be as hard as you think since you scored decent on every section except for the Science. Your grades are excellent. Btw, if you run out of time on the ACT, have u considered the SAT? more time/per question.

I look at your grades and I think to myself this guy is a total beast, if anyone gets into UNC OOS it’s him. Then I see your ACT and I have to have a few second thoughts. You have a 29, which seems kind of weak at first, but when you look in detail, it’s a strong 29. Your English and Math scores are really what matter and those are both pretty good. I think you would definitely increase your chances with a stronger math score if possible because 29 is still a little mediocre for UNC. Your ECs are strong and and I’m going to guess that your recs and essays will be good. I think you have a good shot at UNC and a very good shot at UVA. Good luck!

Yeah I hate how my score brings me down. I mean, 29 isn’t even that bad (94th percentile); but it definitely is not as pretty a number as one in the 30s
