@bballjones It certainly seems like Honors College is a great option at UVM.
We are visiting at the end of the month!
I think UVM could be a great place to be w/o Honors too. And, students can apply for Honors for Sophomore year, if they don’t start in it.
I think teaching and working with undergrads is a priority for faculty at UVM, which is important for those undergrads!
Congrats @bballjones to you and your son! How did you find out he received Honors? Thanks!
Received an invitation via snail mall. We are OOS, but in a neighboring state. Best of luck to everyone still waiting!
Daughter just accepted to the honors college! OOS 1540 SAT, 4.0 uw, 4.58 w, 12 AP’s. UVM is one of her top choices - major would be Biochemistry.
@RoseGarden3 Congrats to your daughter! Let me know, when she makes her final decision on UVM and I will do the same on my son final decision. My son has three other schools still in the mix, but he/we really love the combination of UVM and the honors college.
Are any of your students looking at either music or CS at UVM honors?
Did everyone accepted do the optional essay? Or if stats high enough, rigorous enough, forego?
A bit off topic, but a recently released study revealed that Burlington, Vermont has the cleanest air of any US city (in the lower 48 states as I did not see any cities from Hawaii or Alaska on the list of 50 US cities).
The dirtiest air was determined to be in the Phoenix-Scotsdale-Mesa area of Arizona.
Another off topic reason to consider the University of Vermont is that it would be great to attend class reunions in such an incredible city. (Take it from someone who graduated from a rural LAC located in the middle of nowhere.)
