UW App's Additional Information section?

I’m filling out UW’s writing section and I noticed that a suggestion given for the Additional Information section was “You are hoping to be placed in a specific major soon.”

I really want to be directly admitted to an engineering major so how exactly should I go about saying that here? Just a simple sentence saying that I wish to be directly admitted or should I elaborate? UW is definitely my top choice but if I don’t get directly admitted to mechanical engineering, I probably won’t go to UW since it’s apparently extremely difficult to get into an engineering department later on

Same for me! I’m majoring in computer science and I heard that acceptance with this major in college is close to 3%.

I would definitely like to be admitted to the Computer Science major at UW directly after high school graduation. Some people are telling me to talk to some of the staff and professors at UW and engage with them and show how much you love what you potentially want to major in.
