@cjteam just curious what was your GPA? I’m thinking of trying to do the same thing.
@cjteam And do you have any other advise if I were going to try it?
I’ve been admitted as a pre physical sciences student. I really want to attend UW, but I’m very concerned about the risk of not being admitted by the CSE department. It seems like it’s very competitive. Does the fact that I put CS as my intended major on my application hold any weight in the CS department application process? Did putting CS as my major on my UW application make it harder to get in to UW (as is the case with most UC), or is the intended major more or less meaningless?
The only other school I am considering is Penn State for Computer Engineering. I have also been wait listed at Uc Irvine for CSE.
Any advice as to what I should do between UW and Penn State and if the risk is worth it?
Does Sat subject tests influence direct admission at all? (I suppose 800s in sat math ii or physics would help to some extent)
@speedsolver

@speedsolver Do they hire non CSE majors as TA’s?
@speedsolver are you a student at UW? Or an advisor?
She was a CSE student, and she used to give a lot of good advice for those who were interested in CSE program at the UW.
Oh, I did not even notice her messages were from a year ago!
