One thing that concerns me about UW Engineering program is that you aren’t admitted into the major that you want right away. You are put into Pre-Engineering with hopes that you will get the major you want. My question is how many people are admitted into the engineering major that they desire? Also if I don’t get the major that I want can I transfer to a different school and are the credits transferable?
Pre-engineering is being replaced by “direct to college.” You will be admitted to the college of engineering and will get a spot a major in the college. The idea is that you will take preengineering classes and find a best fit major without worrying about keeping a perfect GPA. Whether it will work to reduce the stress in practice hard to say since the program is brand new.
