I’ve recently been admitted to the University of Washington as a pre-engineering major. I am interested in the school but know that you don’t actually apply to the school of engineering until after your first or second year. I’m not sure on the exact statistics but I do know that it is very tough to get accepted into the engineering school for just about any engineering major. Is it worth it to go to UW or should I go to another school where I know I will be able to get an engineering degree? Thank you for any input.
@UWfromCA I’ve noticed you seem to know a lot about the engineering program at UW. Any insight you could offer me. I am hoping to either major in electrical or civil engineering.
@emeraldcircle, I sent you an email with some thoughts.
@UWfromCA thank you very much the information you provided was very helpful. My only remaining question is regarding applying to the engineering school. Can you apply to different engineering majors at once or can you only apply to one specific major at a time?
According to the UW website, you can apply to more than one:
"Once you have completed all prerequisite courses, you can apply for admission to one or more engineering programs.
“Applying to more than one department? Be sure to meet with an adviser to create a course plan that will meet the prerequisites for all your chosen departments.”
