My son is also deciding between IU Kelley (waiting on DA) and Wisconsin. What are the distinguishing characteristics? Both have great Midwest placement. Similar class sizes and costs at full COA.
Madison is much bigger town than Bloomington but also colder.
Whenever they do release decisions, they may post an advance notification through Instagram. Last year, when they released the second batch on Jan. 31, they posted on Instagram that day that students would receive an email alerting them when the decision was available in hopes to avoid the system crashing from everyone trying to log on at the same time. Later that day, they posted that all decisions would be released that night. I don’t know if you checked your portal before getting the email if your decision was available or if you had to wait for the email.
With no decisions having been released yet (unlike last year where certain states received their decisions in December), we may get the same type message on or near the day they release to avoid the system crashing. However, in 2020, I don’t think they posted anything before the second release on January 10, but that was before Covid shut everything down.
Question for anyone who’s been through it before. Does Madison mail a paper letter with the decision after the online decision is released? And if so, how long did it take to receive after the online was posted?
My son was admitted last year (I have another son in the college process now). Within a week of receiving the admissions decision, he received a colored, multi-folded pamphlet for admitted students that was along the lines of…“now that you are admitted, these are the next steps.” It had Bucky on it and addressed things like housing, orientation, etc. I don’t think he got a formal “letter” in the mail on a piece of paper.
