Question about UW Madison scholarships and/or merit aid…
OOS (don’t think it matters) - Is there any merit aid awarded automatically, or are the only merit opportunities through the scholarships on the WISH site? I find it really difficult to navigate! Are there any scholarships that are recommended for incoming freshmen to apply for?
Wanted to add… my S22 hasn’t been admitted, but crossing fingers and toes he hears good news this weekend and want to get a start on applying for scholarships.
On that scholarship site you have to fill out a general application which doesn’t take long. Do that as soon as you can. At least you will be considered for some scholarships from the get go.
Scholarships are applied for directly. I suggest check the wish portal for specific scholarship info. Madison, as you know, has tons of highly qualified candidates who chose it first. They don’t need to deploy a discount strategy to fill seats or increase the stats of their first year students. Tuition is frozen in state, FYI.
