<p>I'm enrolled at carolina, but ever since I've moved from washington in like 7th grade, I've thought I was going back. I got into uw and although I know carolina is a better school. I just feel really torn, which is ridiculous b/c carolina is perfect for me. But I love seattle. LOVE LOVE Seattle. Please, someone try to convince me I made the right choice. :)</p>
<p>Okay, I think you made the right choice. After all, the sun <em>always</em> shines in Blue Heaven. I went to Seattle once, and it was cold and rainy and miserable (in August). It felt like November. My hosts kept saying, "but, you know, it's NEVER like this. The sun is usually ALWAYS shining." Right. Well, you know that's not true. And remember what Thomas Wolfe said (who, by the by, was born in and grew up in Asheville and graduated from UNC): "You can never go home again." How true. Your good memories of Seattle should remain just that. </p>
<p>So, rest assured, you've made the right decision. :)</p>
<p>C'mon. 76 views and only one person can help me out. There's got to be more. Let me just add that I still love the area and intend to move there when I graduate. I'm just not sure that the school is right for me b/c at least in my mind I see as medical/technical. I'm more interested in politics, journalism, etc.</p>

<p>Certainly, the journalism school at UNC is very strong and one of the top journalism schools in the country as I'm sure you already know. I believe the political science department is also nationally ranked.</p>
<p>I think it's easy enough to buy a coat and umbrella and move to Seattle when you graduate. That seems a perfect solution to me. :)</p>
<p>Jack, you're awesome. I just won't buy an umbrella...those are only for the tourists :) I think I have made the right decision. A degree from UNC can get me a job pretty much anywhere in the country.</p>
<p>ready2b: Thanks! Great--you're right about a UNC degree, and you've made a good point about the difference between those 2 schools (with UW's heavier emphasis on medical/technical). </p>
<p>So, you've definitely made the right decision! You'll love UNC, and by the end of your 4 years, you'll be wishing and ready for more rain. ;) </p>
