Carolina vs my in state school

<p>I have applied EA to Carolina and although I've had a lot of time to think about it, I still don't know if I should go to UNC (if I get in) or my state school (Ohio State). When I visited UNC I loved the campus. Also, I want to double major in journalism and political science (then go to law school). For me, Ohio State is much cheaper and I also have a lot of friends and family currently attending there. I've also been accepted into the honors program at UNC. On the contrary, I know that UNC has top notch journalism and political science programs, UNC's campus seemed to be a better fit for me, and I'll know absolutely no one there (which really scares me!). </p>

<p>I grew up in Ohio and have most of my family still there… in fact we were just there for 10 days over the holidays…we live in Texas and my son is a UNC grad. I think I can offer some insight for you. It’s late and I have an early meeting so it will have to be tomorrow.</p>

<p>Can your parents comfortably afford UNC’s OOS tuition? If so, go for it. :slight_smile: If not, I’d recommend Ohio State – you won’t end up saddled with a ton of debt. Nowadays that’s a huge consideration.</p>

<p>You meant to say that you’ve been acceopted at Ohio State’s honors program, right? (I don’t think UNC has announced those decisions yet.)</p>
