Applied for biology as an OOS transfer for Autumn 15, got accepted last night to my disbelief. So there is hope for out-of-staters after all it seems. Hooray.

@navydoc8406 Hi, how do you know you get accepted by UW?

@navydoc8406 I’m wondering the same! Did you get a letter in the mail? I’m also OOS! Didn’t think we would be finding out for months. Congratulations :smile:

@huk888‌ @sdooley21‌

An official letter is sent out via-mail when your status is determined. However, you can use the unofficial transcript trick: Go to MyUW -> Financial Aid Status -> Unofficial Transcript -> -----.
If something loads, it usually means that you have been accepted and should be receiving an official letter soon after.

@huk888‌ I was actually accepted for the Winter 2015 term, so I’m in the process of finishing up my first quarter here at UW.
Good luck to both :slight_smile:

@heyinterstella‌

No to the credit question and yes to the 4-year question.
Although it is recommended that a student transfers with about 90 credits, the effect of having fewer than 90 is minimal.
Your status as an in-state 4-year transfer will make your chances very slim compared to an in-state CC transfer.
UW Seattle recognizes each of it’s branch schools as separate 4-year universities; therefore, your chances are highly affected. Don’t quote me on this, but the simple fact that you are trying to transfer from a UW branch may also play against you.
However, I have seen it done, but your argument must be compelling and your grades must exceed the average applicant.
Best of luck! Sorry for the late reply!

@uwchancemeh Thanks! Good luck with your finals.
I know the wait is agonizing, but for summer quarter ,just one more month to go!
and for fall quarter, just few more months! Just cheer up!:slight_smile: I am sure the odds will be in our favors!

How is everyone doing?

Hey guys, I’m new here. I Did some searching and found this thread. I read practically every thead pertaining uw admissions, from winter 2015 to this thread. I Gotta admit, I felt the anxiety from waiting and the excitement of acceptance some of you guys, from winter 2015, went through like it was my own admission. I applied for uwb and uws for spring and summer, respectively, and when I went to check my application status on myuw.net, I only uwb. Should I be worried that I don’t see a app status for uws?congrads to all of those who made it! It’ll help me sleep tonight.

@worrywart1j Good luck! We should be hearing in early May!

@huk888‌ Thanks. I called admissions today and got it figured out. I can see my app status feature in myuw.net portal.

But! I have another burning question, fasfa called and asked to verify my ssn, does this mean they are reviewing my app? Gwadddddddd I’m so worried I don’t even know how to feel. Sigh… Maybe we can distract ourselves by imagining where our new secret hiding spot at Uw would be if we get accepted. :). Any suggestions?

@worrywart1j I don’t know about Fasfa but probably the admissions are starting to review the application since they have just finished sending out notifications to the Freshmen applications.
By the way which major you applied for UWS for summer quarter? Would you mind posting your stats? :slight_smile:

Anyone can load the unofficial transcrit now??

@TheOneInCs No…not yet .How about you?

Does anybody know if people who applied for a competitive major and had to send in other materials, possibly find out before general admission?

@julie1823 I think according to the previous years, you will probably be notified by the department sooner than the general admission.

Ahh great, now i’ll be always be nervous to check my email…
