Just wondering if it’s only me or does anyone else’s UW banner say Bothell too?
You know…People tell me that if I havent heard at this point then Im rejected. its nice to come here and get a breah of fresh air by talking to people who are experiencing the same thing. My mom has cancer and my grandma is in the hospital, no one wants to hear about my problems, but here I can see that we are all wanting the same thing. We need to encourage each other.
You just have that banner set. There are arrows near the banner that you can click to change that.
oh and my banner hasnt changed.
I’ve been lurking and just wanted to add that I think they’re doing it based on competitive majors first and going down the list. And also, I’ve been rejected like…3 or 4 times now, all in May. Just saying. Although I’m trying to get into a very non competitive major this time.
@uwwannabe I’m sorry to hear about your mom and your grandma!
i feel like we have a bond because of this forum lol!!
feel free to reach out and connect on facebook if u wanna talk about that/need a person to vent to. (are there direct messages on this forum? #slideintomyDMS
@uwwannabe No, don’t think that. There are so many more acceptances that they have yet to release. It’s hard to be positive, but it is so much better if you remain hopeful. You’re absolutely right. Encouragement is the only thing that should be on here. Again, best of luck to you. Don’t listen to other people about rejections. I personally know a handful of people that got their acceptance letters last year in July!
No matter what someone says, I know I will still be checking that transcript link hourly each day, and stalking my post man!

My friend who goes to UW told me what he thinks how it works is that they send out acceptances to those earlier and for us waiting until end of june it could be that they are waiting for those people to reply to them. After UW get their responses they see how many more they can accept. If that is true then that would be us right now.
As much as I love the thought of being a plan B, I think since the batches generally come out around the time the last batch has to accept by, it’s more like they can use those numbers to tell how big the next batch/batches can be, rather than like their top choices being notified in May, and the bottom in July.
Well, if that is the case they should have notified me in the first group. I would have responded same day, which would have been great for them!
its been awhile since the last batch
I’ve been lurking here for my sister,
UW is clearly doing things differently this year. Every major that has heard back has been outside of the College of Arts and Sciences or a competitive major within. The open majors haven’t heard back (has anyone heard differently?) from the few data points I’ve collected. Where as in previous years the first wave came in the middle of the month.
I totally know what everyone is going through though (aside from the delay), if you applied to an open major have strength in the fact it doesn’t seem like that wave has started at all yet.
@Meesh6036 Actually I was accepted about a week ago with the intended major of philosophy (it just shows up as pre-social-science). I fear that the waves have indeed been going out to applicants of the school of arts and sciences :/. My experience (sample size 1 so zzzzzz) has been exactly on par with reports of last year’s procedure. I think it’s best to just look for the second wave at this point.
Yes its not like last year!!..so different this year
@EchosOki You were already accepted? Congratulations! I applied to the college of arts of sciences but i havent heard anything
My unofficial transcript just loaded!
Recap: In-state transfer to Seattle UW Public Health BA (received acceptance to major in April)
Anyone applying to CSE for fall get accepted yet?
@SeattlePea Congratulations! I guess you can throw that party now!
@CSEAPPLICANT As far as I know there was only one other CSE person on here and they were summer. We’re in a weird position because the of the new system so there isn’t really anything to compare it to. This is what they said when I asked a few months ago:
“Great question! Since this is a new policy, it is hard to say how this will affect the timeline for sending out decisions. I would imagine this would expedite the process to certain extent, however decisions will most likely still be sent out between mid-June and early July.”
