Hi, cse here. My unofficial loaded last friday (i checked around 9:40pm). It did show my SID & birthday and my major: computer engineering. Today my application status changes to congrats message. No email from department yet. Anw, i am fall transfer from cc
Philosophy is a minimum major, actually. Who knows the difference between it and open/competitive in the review process. Point is - I haven’t seen on here, Twitter, reddit or Facebook anyone that applied to a strictly open major that has heard anything. The year I applied it was obvious a wave had started for the open majors.

What is considered an “open major”
@thunald any major that anyone can get into just by declaring it. For instance physics is an open major. There is a list on the Uw website if majors and their levels of competitvness
I applied for law societies and justice which I’m not applying into directly (need certain pre reqs, etc). So it’s like open major right?

If not search for “list of undergraduate majors” and “University of Washington”.
This doesn’t have any relevance really, other than the observation that no open ones have loaded so I wouldn’t take it as a bad sign since you’re competitive. Who knows what’s going on.
Mine loaded on the first wave (2011) and it was a Tuesday. So let’s hope for tomorrow!
@barshburs law societies and justice is a competitive major. You have to apply and fulfill certain requirements and then you may or may not be accepted

Yeah so it’s basically applying for general admission/open major since law societies and justice would require me to take specific classes at uw. So i couldn’t have applied directly into the major, I just wrote it as my intended major. I just finished my freshman year of college at reed.

@LilMsMaroon : cs&ce changes the application process this year (you only apply once). Decision is based on uw general application.

Has anyone been accepted to both bothell and seattle? Has your unofficial transcript changed once seattle accepted you? Mine currently shows bothell because I’ve already been accepted, but I was wondering if there was any way to tell if seattle has accepted me aswell. Thanks, I searched through the thread and could not find a definite answer of someone who has been accepted to both.

@YoooooN Thank you, but I dont neccessary understand what you’re trying to say. Which colllege section are you talking about? The one in Unofficial transcripts or home page? I see both campuses on the front page. Thanks
