Hey guys.
I don’t mean to sound like a cynic or evenly vaguely racist but from what I have gathered about UWC (by both semi harassing my national committee online as well as the current students at the UWC in my country) is that students from 3rd world-esque countries seem to have a better chance at getting into a UWC than those from developed ones. For instance, someone from Mauritius or say, the Maldives is probably more likely to get through over someone from the US or UK, given that both have the same academic achievements. I dont know if it is due to the sheer difference in the number of applications both national committees get (the US for instance will certainly get more applications that Mauritius) or maybe it’s because the UWC committee wants to keep its culturally diverse student population…diverse. I don’t know, I’m rambling here and I am not sure what to do with this information either so take from it what you will I guess.

P.S- I am real fun at parties too.
eyylmao obviously the would it’s not like a person from the UK and US come from an undeveloped country. People from Africa need to be groomed as African countries or poor countries need more educated people to uplift poverty levels and develop the economies. I don’t even undertand why you would think of that in the way you just did. Plus did you know that almost all US finalists which is on average 50 get full scholarships unlike countries in Africa where a person wears the same underwear for a month due to poverty.
