There is a physician in Idaho, Dr. Ryan Cole, who is actively involved in the spread of misinformation, making false claims such as the vaccine causes cancer or causes other viruses, and that the vaccine causes more deaths than COVID itself. You’d think the state would reprimand him or perhaps threaten to take away his license to practice medicine. But no. He was just elected to the health board. Dr. Ryan Cole's standing on health board elicits polarizing responses
Those last two posts happening at the same time wouldn’t be believed if they were in a book.
It still boggles my mind how so many can’t see reality happening unless it’s right in front of them hitting them in the face.
My dad told us when we were young, “Learn from other peoples’ mistakes. Life is too short to make them all yourself.” I guess I never understood how hard it was to do that.
@twoinanddone, it’s the same reasoning that was behind injecting yourself with bleach - it had shown some antiviral properties in vitro. So, if it kills viruses outside the body, let’s try it inside the body.
I guess people are going to inject themselves with pesticides next. I promise it will kill viruses in your body!
Well my internist told to go get my 3rd Pfizer shot so I’m going to do it after my webinar on Friday.
Not that ivermectin is going to work against Covid but it is used in millions of humans around the world daily to treat things other than parasites. It’s so much more than a horse dewormer. Obviously it has been politicized but it has been used in humans for decades. Again, not a miracle for covid but not unreasonable to be tested in trials which is happening.
Oh for sure it has its correct uses - no doubt there. But I don’t see anywhere else where people are telling folks to go into feed stores and buy the animal-created version right off the shelf to self-medicate, and so many go, “awesome - great!”
And this without question, because if they questioned it, it’s far more ludicrous than simply getting a vaccine.
I browsed that paper quickly, but didn’t see human applications to things other than parasites. What other conditions is Ivermectin used for that aren’t parasite-related?
It is quite remarkable and really a testament to the value of ecological diversity that the microorganism used in its creation is only found in Japan.
This.
We all know that a blowtorch, when applied to viruses and bacteria in vitro, kills/destroys them instantly. But is anyone considering self-immolation as a treatment for COVID??
Yeah, my comparison is ridiculous, but it shows the insanity of applying a random parasite killer or bathroom cleaner to a human disease.
It can be used to treat some skin conditions such as rosacea but there are other treatments more commonly used to treat them.
Perhaps someone with a medical background can correct me, but if I read the article correctly it seems that every single mentioned use involved treating either endoparasites or ectoparasites.
According to this, lotions and creams containing Ivermectin are also used to treat head lice and rosacea.
No idea how common it is used for either.
Ivermectin is much more important and probably much more commonly used as a drug for humans in parts of the world where parasitic worms and the like that cause nasty problems like river blindness are common.
Head-lice is a parasite, and rosacea inflammation has also been linked to a parasitical mite.
From the very beginning, in 2020…so much arguing. It has boiled down to and does boil down to that we DON’T HAVE ENOUGH BEDS AND PERSONNEL to fight a pandemic of this scale. We were given an answer and for God only knows what reason, people decided they know better than to take it. It is mind boggling. Meanwhile, we’re kept in our pods waiting it out. How long does it have to drag on before the herd is thinned and it’s just a pesky nuisance we get a shot for every year? I never dreamed I’d see people choosing to give it up to a preventable virus.
Topically vs. internally though.
A recent study cited by the CDC found that ivermectin dispensed from retail pharmacies in the U.S. increased from an average of 3,600 prescriptions per week pre-pandemic to a peak of 39,000 prescriptions in the week ending Jan. 8, 2021. Then, since early July, outpatient ivermectin dispensing rapidly increased to more than 88,000 prescriptions in the week ending Aug. 13.
I wonder how much the tube paste sales have increased at farm stores. And do humans prefer the apple flavor?
I’ve got some liquid left over from my goats. I should throw it up on ebay and see what it’s worth…
Just the fact that the Latin for worms is right in the name ivermectin skeeves me. But that’s just me.
Have people seen these quips from Late Night Hosts regarding Ivermectin? (courtesy of the NYT daily e-mail)
“So you will probably still get Covid, but on the bright side, you could win the Preakness.” — STEPHEN COLBERT
“Poison-control centers across the country have seen a spike in calls from people taking livestock medicine to fight the coronavirus, but they won’t take the vaccine, which is crazy. It’s like if you’re a vegan and you’re like, ‘No, I don’t want a hamburger — give me that can of Alpo instead.’” — JIMMY KIMMEL
“Worst of all, it tastes yucky. Luckily, the internet is loaded with advice on how to make it more palatable, including mixing it with jellies or eating it as a sandwich. Or throw it on your roast beef — technically, it is horsey sauce.” — STEPHEN COLBERT
“One of the reasons these Sea Biscuits are opting for ivermectin is because they don’t trust ‘big pharma.’ Which is fine, I guess, except for the fact that ivermectin is made by Merck, which is the fourth-largest pharmaceutical company in the world.” — JIMMY KIMMEL
“Listen, if a pharmaceutical company says, ‘Please don’t take the drug we’re selling,’ you should probably listen to them. Or you could just go with a TikTok posted by a disgraced veterinarian instead.” — JIMMY KIMMEL
