valedictorian?

heyy guys. sry i know this is the wrong forum but i didn't know where else to post this..
can somebody answer my question please?

Up to what month of senior year gets factored into becoming valedictorian?
i know it varies slighly from school to school...but generally....

Or are the grades from only up to junior year used?

thanks!

My son was valedictorian. At his school, they used the grades up to the last progress reporting period of his senior year. As you mentioned, though, this varies from school to school.

do you mean that his school used grades up until the end of the school around june?

Most schools (probably 97%) determine the valedictorian using grades up to senior year first semester.

My school uses grades up to the very end of senior year, so the valedictorian could in theory change just a few days before the graduation ceremony.

OP, my son’s school has two progress report periods and then the final grades come out for the semester. I think the third progress reporting period ended toward the middle of May. He found out then he was valedictorian.

Our school used grades which included all of senior year.

Same thing happens at my school.

Our school uses grades up to the first semester of senior year, as far as I know.

My school also could change at the last moment!!! It’s very competitive.
