Vanderbilt 2020 Waitlist - Discussion

Ditto.

Do you think visiting helps you get accepted from the waitlist?
Also, even though it is a long shot at this point, do you think Vanderbilt is a better place than Wash U? Because Wash U is where I have put my deposit down.

@holdthedoor526 In what aspect do you mean better? They are different schools with different environments and strengths. And you visiting Vandy is not going to make someone abandon their deposit. Besides, at this point, all waitlists are out I believe.

Did everyone just get a “do you still want to remain on the waitlist” email?

yes I just got an email

wow they’re still sending them out?

Posted this earlier…from the waitlist info link:
“Any offers of admission to waitlist candidates will occur first in early May, on a space-available
basis, and may continue through June. The freshman admission process typically ends by July 1”

at this point is it plausible to think there’s a chance of getting off the waitlist? should I just book my flight out and pre-orientation stuff?

Hey Guys, I’ve mostly been a distant reader of this page to see if anyone had received admission, so now is my time to give back. I just received an offer of admission at 10:45 am today, so don’t lose hope!

@commodores3927 Congrats! which state r u from? Which major did you apply? Or is it matter? Thx

It’s more about what school you applied to. Engineering,Arts and Sciences, Nursing, etc.

@commodores3927 Congrats!

Is it better to contact admissions officers by email or calling their office? I’ve been fairly active in updating my admissions status but clearly so far that hasn’t been working :slight_smile: Will calling just make me a nuisance, or will it show that I am very serious about this school?

Hi folks, I have been following the waitlist threads for a few schools and now that I have some info want to contribute for a change. My daughter received an email from admissions this past Wed June 1 before noon asking if she wanted to be offered admission and was given until Fri to respond. Once she responded that she would like an offer, via the portal, she was then given an additional 72 hours (until Mon) to accept/decline. She was accepted to the Peabody School (as a cognitive science major). We are from the Boston area. In light of the timing they may be making offers again later this week. Best of luck to those still waiting to hear.

What did your daughter do to get in off the waitlist?

Wow, this completely took me by surprise. They just sent an email to me today asking me if I wanted an admission offer. Does that mean I got off?

Email your VU admissions counselor and your HS counselor to be 100% sure, but I think that’s the same email my daughter received! Congrats!

@fore7630 yes. Congrats

Congrats! Where are you from? What’s your intended major?
Thanks!

@Fore7630 Congratulations that’s so exciting! Hope you decide to take the offer and join us!
