I have a very rigorous course load with perfect senior year grades (sent q1 grades) but don’t want to get too specific with that and EC’s due to recognition purposes, but they would be considered good to excellent mainly in the fields of politics, music, religion and athletics
Essays and Recs are going to pretty pretty solid as well, i go to a very small school so my teachers know me pretty well and like me alot. Im also from California if that makes a difference
Looking for a chance mostly based on stats, I applied ED 1 already and am nervous/excited. If i don’t get in (trying not to think about that) ill be applying to duke, johns hopkins, dartmouth, tufts, emory, william and mary, wake forest, tulane, yale and northwestern, so if you guys could chance me RD for those as well it would be awesome!
You have a good shot, but I’m just wondering why did you choose Vanderbilt for your ED school… Your stats are good enough to try some Ivies and top tier schools…
@Mminjjae I changed my mind from Brown to Vanderbilt last minute simply because I loved it. Not everything is about prestige (I’m still applying to Ivies RD). I imagine it’s a similar story for OP
OP, you sound pretty similar to me (except sports lol). Do you have any leadership or awards other than National Merit commended? In a post about ED last year, Vandy said 100% of those accepted held a leadership position or major award, so I’m guessing it’ll be the same this year.
@Mminjjae I chose Vandy because I visited and absolutely loved it. And actually, it has a similar prestige to the ivies and is a much better personality fit. I also don’t think it’s any easier to get into (though im hoping it is!)
@collegebobollege I’m the captain of my basketball team and started/leading three organizations and have done other various leadership things. but im not sure what they really mean by leadership positions. No major awards though, but if it’s 100% of acceptances im sure they must stretch the definition a little
