Vanderbilt ED1 Class of 2019 Discussion Thread

Last year’s ED1 thread was very emotional.

But only had like 20 something pages.

@weepingmermaid‌ Yeah, I definitely feel like if there’s a link between an EC and why you want to attend, you should mention it! And thank you- best of luck to you as well!

@classof2015WHS‌ I believe it is usually late afternoon. The most common time I see is 5 PM EST, I think!

I am sure VU administration wants to exit the campus before decisions are released! :)

@lorielliott1‌ haha that is so true :)) I bet they have a lot of angry parents calling to complain!

I am so incredibly nervous for decision day…wow.

I kinda hope they release them in the middle of the day when I’m at school so at least I have people to either bounce off the walls with me or cheer me up if I get super depressed you know? It’s crazy though that we could know before next weekend!!

Hey, I just want to verify, do we find out about our admission on the 12th or the 15th because I have heard rumors about both

Vanderbilt admissions states that ED1 application decisions will be available by Dec. 15th. However, last year, they released the decisions a few days early - Dec. 13th

We will for sure hear by the 15th, but based on what we’ve heard, it could be anywhere from the 12th to the 15th (: Only a few more days now!

Got a letter from Vanderbilt in the mail. Was for my brother. You can imagine my sorrow.

Ahhhhh man, that’s rough  I never got all that much stuff from them, maybe like 3 or 4 things since last march hehe. I remember getting the first thing and going, “Well this is really colorful, I just might apply here!” And look what happened (:

Probably helped that I hadn’t gotten much else from anywhere yet…hmmmm XD

Ok yes! I feel like i’ve barely gotten anything from Vanderbilt but i’ve gotten loads of stuff from places like Princeton and other Ivy Leagues, UChicago even sent me a shirt!! It’s actually been kind of discouraging not getting much from Vandy, half of the time when we get something in the mail from vandy it’s for my mom :(

I got probably 100 different things from WUSTL, and a bunch from Columbia especially out of the Ivy Leagues! But I guess what Vanderbilt did send certainly did the trick!

fellow ED applicant here  i heard they like to release the decisions on a friday, because that way the admissions office is closed over the weekend and can avoid angry phone calls from parents! So that would mean December 12th. We’re close!

hahah that’s actually kind of funny, and sad… But i definitely understand why they do it! Gives the parents time to cool down before they yell at them!

Ya seriously. Kind of smart of them I must say. If they really do release them on Monday then they’ll have a whole week of complaints with no break…if I were them I’d choose Friday for sure!

Good luck to everyone! (I may be applying to Vandy ED2 if my Duke ED doesn’t work out.)

It makes me sad that helicopter parents think yelling at the admissions team actually does anything
