I hope so!!

Not that any of this will help with any of y’all’s stress right now, but listen to this:

A year ago, I had my heart set on being a member of the Class of 2018 at Duke, applied ED, and had to deal with a brutal rejection. I had a crazy search that wound up with me choosing Vandy after being accepted off the waitlist in May. This is just to say that you will all make the most of whatever place you wind up at. I love Vanderbilt, and while I hope that as many people as possible get in, some of you will be deferred (don’t give up hope if this happens) or outright rejected (as happened to me elsewhere last December).

As for when you will hear, what I can say is that, last spring I got an e-mail Thursday night saying that my decision would be available Friday evening. So, don’t expect that much notice, but my GUESS (now, I have no ties to the admissions office, so this is a pure guess) would be that you will hear probably Friday, maybe Monday.

Best of luck to everyone wherever you wind up!

except no one will be deferred from ED ^^^

Hi guys! I’m so late in the game to making an account on this site! Idk about you but I’ve spent hours agonizing over the vandy ED results thread from last year. I can’t wait for the ED1 decisions to come out! I’ve received a 4 Year NROTC scholarship here already, so I have a lot riding on the decision and I know all of you guys do too! Good luck and fingers crossed for everyone!!

Why would no one be deferred ED? No one will be waitlisted (though you could be deferred and then waitlisted- as the ultimate “bubble” candidate), unless Vandy is doing something new this year that I haven’t heard about.

@survivorfan Vandy doesn’t defer ED applicants, they either accept or deny.

@riptides214

Wow, I didn’t know that! I probably should know something like that about the school I go to, though!

@ riptides214

Vandy explained at Senior PreVU: If an applicant does not get in ED, chances are VERY slim to get in RD. So they want to just “rip the band-aid off” and let you fall in love with another great school. No deferrals. I get it.

The more I look at other colleges, the more solace I find in my impending rejection from Vanderbilt.
It’s funny. But as some people have said, wherever I (or you) go, we will find our place. Keep this in mind…

@CollegePanda96 You still claim to not be the wise one here? Hahaha

Worst part of being rejected would just be the feeling of having a school say no after putting so much time, and work, and emotion into it. Even worse than just not going their in my opinion.

So I guess we look out for an email tomorrow to see if decisions are gonna be out on Friday. I’m going to die if I have to wait until Monday.

I keep checking the admissions blog like every 5 minutes hoping they’ll update it with something. It’s so close now!!

@nerdfighter23 last year they didn’t post it unyil the day before.

Ya I know there won’t be anything but I just figure why not haha
One can hope (:

I’m thinking friday or saturday, yall

Yeah, I won’t be upset because I can’t imagine myself anywhere but Vanderbilt, I would be upset because I’m back to the waiting game again. XD

Like this if you think they will come out on friday or saturday

Hi! I was just wondering how much of a hook do you guys think being a girl going into engineering is?

I think it is a big hook. As a guy who applied to engineering ED I can tell you for sure that they really want women because they are proud of their stat (~37% female in the engineering school) average is 15% so yeah big hook if you are smart and female applying to engineering
