Vanderbilt ED2 Class of 2019 Discussion Thread

Financial aid estimate should be available online if you’re accepted. There should be an online letter and one in the mail.

My aid package says that I still need to cough up $7,000. I am a Questbridge Finalist–I cannot afford this sum!!! It says clearly on the QB Vanderbilt page http://www.questbridge.org/vanderbilt-financial-aid that I shouldn’t be required to take loans and they will meet 100% of my need. But at this rate, I will have to. PLEASE HELP VANDY IS MY #1 DREAM

@Work2Live‌ Thank you!! Got it!! Looks like I’ll definitely be attending!!

Congratulations to all new class of 2019! Hope to join you soon. @ubermika‌ I would suggest calling the office of financial aid.

To everyone who got in, congratulations, you will be coming to a great place in August! To those who did not, don’t get too upset. The college process is a crazy thing and it seems to open up opportunities that you could never imagine. I would not be at Vandy today if I had gotten the news I wanted a little over a year ago EDI. While things worked out at Vanderbilt, which was always one of my top choices, the two other schools that I also almost went to were not even remotely on my radar back in December of 2013. But, there are so many great places and several great fits out there, so please do not get too down over this (and feel free to look at the thread of my college search story in the hindsight forum)!

I got rejected. I feel so hurt because I worked so so hard. I can’t believe that i didn’t get accepted! I honestly feel hurt and sad. But, i swear you guys. To those of you who were rejected to Vandy today or find out sometime that you were. SHOW and PROVE To vanderbilt and YOURSELF that you are better than what they think you are. YOU are so much more and if they can’t see that, then their blind. Working your butt off in high school and doing god knows how many activities. YOU deserve to achieve greatness. This greatness you may have thought was supposed to be awarded to you through a college acceptance, but name brand colleges such as Vandy can only provide you with resources. YOU ultimately bring the action in the world. Getting into Vandy does not mean you will be destined for greatness; you still have to work to achieve.

SO. Take this rejection as motivation that you deserve SO MUCH MORE! Go out and achieve all the things that you truly want. Doesn’t matter how old you are, whether you’re disabled, boy, girl. Just follow your passions and strive to be the best you can be. Then, everyone will chase after you rather than you chasing after these overrated colleges.

Accepted

Wow! Congrats to everybody!
