The assumption with the wait list is that the applicants would be admitted if there would be more room. If there currently not enough room for them so they needed to be wait listed, then how would there be enough room for applicants who have not yet received a decision? If Vanderbilt still has room to admit some applicants, then instead of placing some of the applicants on the wait list, it could have instead admitted them.
We’ll find out will happen. It is definitely odd that you have not received any decision yet.
im so confused as to why i dont have a decision yet, all my stuff was in on time before the orignial deadline?! my admissions officers changed so some of my stuff had to be sent around but that was something they sorted out themselves so im so confused???
@heyigotnoclue There has been some people that got in. I would not blame Vanderbilt but rather than are looking for specific types of people to make their student body. This is why every college has their own kind of fit.
@thelegitbrian im sorry who is Shaniek? And what in the world did he say lol?
And second, hold up, I didn’t blame anyone. I merely said that I am confirming whoever said in the forum that community college students have a much harder time to transfer into Vandy…
Also, last time I checked, voicing my frustration because of the process this year and WHAT HAPPENED IN MY EXPERIENCE, is allowed on this website so, if you happen to not like it, you are more than welcome to ignore it or report me.
hey guys. I just found this thread recently and I’ve been looking over y’alls posts. I decided extremely last minute to apply to Vanderbilt because of coronavirus issues. I’m hoping they’ll consider my application! maybe they’ve had a drop in applications and students returning back to campus
@heyigotnoclue Shaniek is a she actually. If you don’t remember her by that name then lets go by Autumn if that helps.
Anyhow, I am fine with having a tantrum on collegeconfidential. Feel free to continue.
But if you really think that an individual from a forum is a reliable source to say that community college students don’t get into Vanderbilt, by all means, go at it.
I might as well reference some from a forum who said the sky was green and get frustrated at the sky because it is clearly not green, but blue.
I talked to my admissions counselor, and he said that there are still some acceptance offers that they are waiting to hear back from before they potentially move to the WL. When was the deadline for reply for the last wave?
Also, has anyone been rejected yet, or have people only been accepted/waitlisted???
All my documents did not show up on my checklist until recently because my admissions officer said that the process is even more delayed than usual because of coronavirus and the Vanderbilt Faculty social distancing. It’s definitely a risk because I am so late, but I am willing to try anything.
@thelegitbrian - wait never mind, i figured out who you are… but im still confused as to how shaniek fits into this… expand please or u can do so privately. either or
@Ryckmann1334452 I think it was June 5th from what I heard. Also, how did you contact your AO? I tried calling mine but the number was invalid. Are you also waitlisted?
Yes, I am currently waitlisted and got in touch with my AO. From the way their latest communication sounded, it seems as though they have the transfer class size they are looking for at this point, and doesn’t know if they will use the waitlist at all. I guess those remaining offered accepted their admissions. They did say, however, because of this year’s uncertainty they will keep the waitlist open until mid-July.
So in short, if you’re waitlisted, don’t expect to be accepted off of it. It’s merely a formality to keep it open if inexplicably a lot of people drop their commitment for whatever reason.
I’m sorry that I don’t have better news for everyone, but it seems like it’s time to move on. Make other plans for the fall and live with that reality.
Did all of you guys get that email asking us to confirm our interest? Could this mean that waitlist acceptances might be coming soon? I’ve seen in the First-Year thread that whenever these emails are sent out a wave of admits follow.
