Vanderbilt Regular Decision Thread

pretty sure it means visit and spend money there

What day were decisions released last year?

@cllge_mck1 it was 3/28 last year, and we are expecting 3/28 this year along with the Ivies

I applied to this school on a whim. Do you think my lack of demonstrated interest will be a weakness in my application?

They dont measure demonstrated interest @penpal11

Today I received an email from Vanderbilt financial aid saying my need-based aid application isn’t complete, but I haven’t been admitted yet (RD - College of Arts and Sciences). Does this email mean I was accepted? I can’t tell if it’s generic or not, but I feel like financial emails come after admittance.

@dogsndrums It means if they do accept you that your FA will show full price until you fix it(unless you are full pay anyways).

@dogsndrums it doesn’t mean anything. Admissions and FA are separate. I’ve been on several threads where people were contacted with these email from other schools, and they still got flat out rejected. Don’t read into it

Two kids from my school alr day go accepted regular decision (one as a finalist for a scholarship and one as a mosaic attendee) would the fact that two kids were alr day accepted hurt my chances? It just seems hard to see myself bein accepted cause I’m not sure they would take 3 kids from the same public school. (Not that I think matters but I’m don’t live in Tennessee so like I’m really skeptical of it)… any thoughts?

@collegecrazy2017 don’t worry, out of the 5 kids that applied to UVA in my school (a public school in florida), 4 got in and one was deferred. your school could be lucky just as mine was

why is everyone saying the 28th for decisions? is there reasoning behind it or is it a random date?

The dean of admissions implied that decisions would be released on the 28th. (He told all of us during MOSAIC on the 18th that we would see our financial aid packages in 10 days)

Anybody know if decisions come through email or portal and what time ?

@Coopy1 I’m a member of the VU Class of 2021 RD and last year decisions came out on the last Tuesday of March (3/28/17) at around 6 PM ET

@NoahBarboza oh wow okay. That makes me feel a lot better… let’s hope Vandy is okay with three kids from my high school

I think it’s safe to bet on tuesday or wednesday for decisions. Last year decisions were released on a the last tueaday of march on the 28th, so I’d say either are safe bets

Is it just me or is this year of college admissions 100x harder than previous years?

100x harder, lol

is there any chance decisions can be tuesday? maybe they were quicker than anticipated

@NoahBarboza I mean I said tuesday because it was tuesday last year. However, it was also the 28th last year, which is Wednesday this year. I really hope it’s tuesday considering Wednesday is ivy day…I mean, it could really go either way
