Vanderbilt transfer 2022

Yeah that’s what we speculate. 2 days ago I checked my applicant portal (wasn’t notified via email) and was waitlisted. Seems to be the case for several others on here. Could’ve been the second wave.

does anyone think that maybe it was like an unplanned or sorta spontaneous “baby” wave (after assessing the deposits that had already come in)? Because it seemed to be smaller in size than the 1st wave, and plus all the AOs have claimed the second wave would come out in mid-to-late May… a lot of us applied before priority deadline and still haven’t heard anything at all, and any date after late May seems pretty late

Could be! The trend is that the second wave IS acceptances. It’s just a bit weird bc I’ve looked at past forums and (please correct me if I’m wrong) there doesn’t seem to be a small wave of waitlists before the second wave. The waitlists usually come late and just linger onto the end of the summer. It’s just hard to understand what they’re doing because of this change

If anyone observed differently (waitlists being released before the second wave) please chime in

I agree. I remember seeing a few waitlists sprinkled in with acceptances for the second wave, but there was definitely not a wave of waitlists like this year

Yeah. I counted ~10 waitlists after the first wave. So I thing it was a small wave.

I’m really hoping something comes out today for waitlists.

There was definitely a small wave of acceptances around the 20th last year, so the hope is not dead

do we think it’s worth calling in to ask if that was the official second wave?

It can’t hurt!

I just called them and they said they couldn’t give a date or estimate but that decisions are just gonna come out as they’re evaluated - not necessarily in waves, but also could be in waves… so nothing concrete, but I didn’t get the impression that they’ve filled up all of their acceptance spots…

Why are they releasing everything so late, I don’t if I should lose hope or not

Were you waitlisted and waiting or did you not receive a decision

never received a decision. I kind of want to know if I got in or not so I can make a decision for my other schools

It’s not late. This is how transferring works. It’s not designed to benefit the applicant. The less selective schools tend to release decisions earlier/rolling and as usual the more selective can do what they want because many people will put up with the waiting and uncertainty.

There’s movement on the waitlist for first years

Being waitlisted before they have evalutated all the candidates though makes absolutely no sense, how do they know who the strongest candidates in this pool is if they haven’t seen everyone’s application

I know. Let’s keep our hopes up.

Has anyone been accepted as a transfer for Fall 2022 as a neuroscience major? My daughter just finished her first year at UVA, and hoping to transfer to Vandy. She is second-guessing her decision to apply as neuroscience. Worried it may be more competitive than Psychology. She has impressive stats, but we worry that this year may present with record transfer applications due to the craziness of college acceptance decisions for 2021. She prefers neuroscience. But, there is some overlap with psychology. In the end, she wants to go to med school and either will work. Any thoughts? Worth risking a call to her AO to ask about it?

Also, she applied by the priority deadline and has not heard anything yet. Did anyone else apply early without an update? Thank you and good luck to all:)
