If anyone else is waiting for decisions from other schools, it might be better that we get our decisions later for Vandy since they only give us two weeks for the tuition deposit.
Is anyone else stressing out over that 9 percent increase? It’s going to get crazy selective this year. My only consolation is that apparently they like accepting BU students, so maybe it’ll even out.
There was no 9 percent increase indicated in the article, it just said that 9.1% of the transfer students identified as first year students. This could be because they may have applied as a sophomore, but only had enough transfer credits to be a considered a freshman. @TerrierNation
“9.1 percent started at Vanderbilt classified as first-year students”- Meaning that 9.1% of transfer students had less than 30 credits transferred in
Read the whole article. “Transfer applications are up nine percent over the last year, and although they might not know who they are yet, the Office of Transition Programs has high hopes for this year’s transfer class.”
@TerrierNation You’re right I apologize for misunderstanding
If I did my math correctly, if applications went up approximately 9 percent, that means that the acceptance rate dropped by 2% to around 27%. This is because although they only offer roughly 210 seats, they accept around 400 students and of those 400, 210 enroll.
Gosh I hope it’s today
@futur3clssof2o2o If they offer only 210 seats, why do they accept 400 students? That doesn’t make much sense.
You guys aren’t going to be happy, but I just called and now they’re saying “AFTER May 1.” It was just the front desk girl, so maybe she’s wrong. I hope so. I have to make a $300 deposit to my state school before May 1.
@grahamcracker123 let’s hope she was wrong
@grahamcracker123 I’ve never wanted someone to be more wrong in my life. Maybe shes pranking us
@Natedagrate13 on average only about 50% of accepted students end up enrolling.
Nothing says mid-April like early May!
They told me this morning that decisions are being released sometime this week.
me too
better be today!!!
I was also told decisions would be released by end of week. The front desk occasionally seems to be misinformed, so I would not firmly believe everything they say. They also could have been referring to the complete release of all transfer decisions, not specifically the first wave @grahamcracker123
This is why I only trust Lee
guys, this my first post, but i have an idea (this worked for UCLA and Cornell): Call Vanderbilt IT and ask them when to expect downtime for decisions to be uploaded to MyAppVU. I would call be I am international and I dont want to pay $5 per minute.
