I feel like it’ll be Monday still but that’s because I’m kind of pessimistic. I would love to get the decision tomorrow though cry
Hey guys, I am a transfer at Vanderbilt who entered this past fall, (fall of 2015). If you guys have any questions about the process/Vanderbilt/transferring then feel free to shoot me a message!
Seems like we are not getting our decisions today, sorry for the anticipation :-<
@sohowgoodami why do you say that? I don’t think we will today either though
Hey @WMstudent18 ! I was wondering if you could tell us about how it was like transferring into the Vanderbilt community? Did you feel immediately welcomed? DO they have a lot of events to integrate transfers into the study body? etc…
Thanks in advance!
I recently applied for transfer and am wondering what peoples opinions might be on my chances of getting in. I did absolutely terrible in high school but spent four years doing other things before enrolling in community college a year and a half ago. During that time I spent time working and traveling around Australia, was elected local precinct officer and was actually on a ballot in my home city. I have volunteered extensively with National Alliance on Mental Illnesses and also with political campaigns. I found success in community college that I didn’t have in high school. I currently have a 3.9 GPA with a wide variety of classes. I am Vice President of the Business Club, a member of student senate, honors program student, member of Phi Theta Kappa, deans list every quarter, and also hold a part time job.
any news yet? when do you all think we will start hearing back?
Probably Monday after 5:30 central
Does anyone know why the transfer rate is so relatively low (~33%)?
@KoshJim For Vanderbilt admissions, that’s pretty high as well as for a top school, Notre Dame, Emory, UVA, and Vandy have pretty nice rates for top schools wise. Duke, Penn, Hopkins etc. are lower than 15% and sometimes lower than 10%.
@cmartin12 oops, i meant to stay “high”… i was surprised because the transfer rate is almost triple the UG’s rate.
say*
@somehmonggirl Why this Monday?
@CudleWudles because the admissions counselor from somebody else said decisions would be coming out this upcoming week “or so”, and historically the waves of decisions happen at the beginning and ends of the week on Monday and Friday after 5:30pm. (At least that’s what I gather)
I’ve heard that I’ll hear back in the next few weeks or so. When does Vandy typically send out most acceptances?
@altonm Mid April, there’s no set date
@somehmonggirl Oh, so they usually send most of the acceptances early? Awesome!
@altonm no, this is the actual time frame they said that decisions would be coming out. It’s not early. However I think in the past , like last year, decisions came out earlier like Monday April 6th
And that’s just the first wave of decisions… It’s rolling basis so expect to get your decision based off of when you sent in the app
@somehmonggirl Thanks!
