how about besides color and location, does everybody wear lacoste and ralph lauren polo's?

No taffy, I prefer button-downs but to each his own. There are a number of people who wear t-shirts and jeans too. Vandy's basically like any college campus.

excellent, that should save me $72 a few times over :)

polos on sale are only $45 ;)

the skinny polos (for girls) are only 39.50 if you buy 2 or more. Same with Abercrombie, if you like sport the moose instead of the horsie.

"polos on sale are only $45"

the t-shirt im wearing was only $15

I don't think people will notice how much your shirt cost. They will only know how much your shirt or jeans cost if they are designer brands. They will also know how much your purse cost, especially if it is a Kate Spade or Coach. But be careful not to be negative of people who like designer brands...they are not shallow, and they did not all get there because of their daddy's money. I'm not a student, but I know for sure, if some kid got into Vandy, he or she is most likely smart or is interested in intellectual things as well as designer clothes. I can't speak for guys, only for girls. I don't understand why Vandy is always a target for breeding rich and snobby people. Many students attending any Ivy League or elite private school or well known public school (Chapel Hill, UVA, Umich) are going to be aware or be wearing trendy clothes and designer brands. People simply enjoy it, most of them are by no means snobby. But if you can't afford the designer clothes, I wouldn't tell you to find your own group, you can hang with people wearing the Abercrombie, Lacoste, or Polo shirts and the Seven Jeans. Nobody will be like no, you can't hang out with us.

i don't like the fit of the custom fit polos (even if they are on sale), i think the regular polos are alot more comfortable.

great point shopgirl.

great point college2332.

i think i would have to bulk up and get some big arm muscles before going for the custom fit :)

taffy, i'm thin, so i only get the custom fits, as the regular fit is just way too loose. the custom fit is not intended for those who are strong, actually, but for those who are thin. look at the model on the site who is wearing the custom fit, and than look at the model who is wearing the regular fit. the regular fit guy would kick the custom fit's ass ;)

ah i didnt know that.

thats the pic that made me think "wow that shirt makes that guy look really wimpy!"

and then theres the lacoste double polo... two $72 polos at once... rock this proudly:

I'm assuming the custom fit is the guy's version of the girl's skinny fit polo? Is this right? Anyways, yes, the skinny/custom run very small. And they will shrink a lot. But if you're skinny, they usually always look good and presentable. I've heard many moms compliment the preppy polo/collared shirt look instead of always revealing way too much skin. I"m sure Vandy gets its share of preppy as well as slutty girls, but regardless of type, they're probably smart and nice, so it doesn't really matter. Anyways, I sort of got the impression after freshman year, the workload picks up pretty fast and there's not much time to fuss over brand names.
Honestly though I would love to go to a school like Vanderbilt and come out being well educated, hardworking, and social. In this job world, appearances are going to matter, Vandy will prepare you for that. Vandy will also prepare you how to get the job you want.

i think custom fit is an inch or two shorter on all the specs of the shirt

This post wasn't supposed to turn into a shopping tip thread. Let's stick to the matter at hand.

hahahahahaha sorry

wasn't one of the places on campus called confederate memorial hall? so do people fly the rebel flag? in alabama i saw it a few times in the boonies.

also, does everybody have a black and white "W" sticker on their car? i saw that a lot in bama too.

taffy, where are you from? yeah, alabama's flag is the confederate flag- essentially.

this year it's like 25 percent or something of the class is made up of traditionally underrepresented minorities
