I applied to Vandy RD because I don't know what sort of financial aid I'll be able to receive.. It's definitely my first choice school. I'm already UT-Austin, Oklahoma, and Baylor, so I would probably choose from one of those if I don't get into Vanderbilt. But I was just wondering:

SAT - 1440/2110 (750 CR 690 M 660 W)
ACT - 34 (36 Reading, 32 Math & Science, 34 Writing - didn't do essay portion)
Rank - 20/678
APs - Taken 3 (4 on WH; 5 on USH and Lang&Comp), taking 5 more in May
EC's - Varsity cheerleading- social committee chair, NHS, Student Council, Math Mentor
GPA - 4.0 uw
Very competitive public Texas high school
National Merit Commended Scholar
AP Scholar

.. I think that's it. And my parents are make about $150,000 a year, but I have a sister in college- will my EFC still be super high? Because I know there's no way they can cover the $50,000 a year.

Also, I applied to the school of engineering- do they take majors into account when accepting? If so, do you think this would hurt my application more?

4.0 gpa, 34 act, top 5% at a competitive high school. vandy is probably a match. my parents probably make around what your parents make, and we had a high efc. since you have a sister in college, though, you might get a lower efc. we called an admissions office at another selective private and they said not to expect much if any aid.

youll get in almost for sure, more than 70%chance but i dont think youll get that much aid, you might get some, and maybe some merit scholarships, but not that much aid

And hilsa, I do have a job, I work about 20 hours a week, but I don't have very many noteworthy awards that I can remember off the top of my head. I figured my ECs would be on the weaker side, but I hoped my test scores/rank/etc would help make up for it at least a little.
