And has the website stated or does any1 know when they will be mailed?

As of this morning, no update on blog. Last year for ED, all envelopes were small.

Do you by any chance know when they were sent out last year?

I think it was December 14 - a Tuesday

I seem to think they were sent out to receive by 15th - don’t hold me to it! D was RD, but 2 of her friends were ED1…1 got in, 1 didnt

Thanks a ton. And do you know if they will update online when they are sent out

Yes, they normally update the blog. You can read the past year’s blogs and see the exact date ED mailings went out. They seem to mail around the 12-14, so that means most students will not hear by the 15th - more like 2 or 3 days after they mail, depending on where you live.

They put up a new blog, but no mention of application process updates or possible notification date. Are we at the week countdown part yet?

^^I think the blog has been weirdly quiet with application/admissions info this year - no mention of anything related to ED, except that general one about “reading”. I wish they would give out some more relevant information.

I have no idea what they will do this year, but often they like to mail on Tuesday and indicate that no decisions will be given by phone until the following Monday. This gives most applicants a chance to get their decision before the phones start ringing off the wall and puts the admissions staff out of the office when peak hysteria is going on.

Agreed. Is there an increase in ed1 applicants this year? Or is there also no info about that

Vandy was not on the NY times’ list of ED applicant totals for some reason this year.

It is worth noting that this is the first year in a while that Yale and Princeton (?) have offered ED. As a result, some schools have seen a drop in ED applicants, but not all.

Can u post a link to that article

[The Early Line on Early Applications for the Class of 2016 - NYTimes.com](The Early Line on Early Applications for the Class of 2016 - The New York Times)

I think that’s the article Zamar18 was referring to…

I wonder if Vanderbilt was as affected as Penn. I know that Vanderbilt attracts the some of the same students as the Ivies, but I wonder if Vandy’s ED option would attract the same pool of students?

Thanks. I hope Vandy got less applicants ;)

Me too! So anxious to hear! And I agree that the Admissions Blog has been extremely quiet lately…So inconvenient.

Exactly. Not even a clue to when they will mail it

I’m expecting that they update the blog exactly on the day the letters are sent out like they have in past years and let us know they’re on the way. I’m from New England. So, I’ll hear on Saturday if I’m lucky.

ellbell2012 - was just reading the blog from last Dec (like I have nothing else to do!) and that seems to be their trend. There was another new blog, but didn’t pertain to ED1.

We are in MO, if they leave on 14th, like last year, we will hopefully get by Friday.
Next week will be review for finals for S and Friday is first 2 exams - would be a nice end to a long week & a reason to finish semester strong. A mother can only hope!

one week ya’ll omg!
