Vandy girls are so beautiful

i just went to webshots.com and typed in vandy girls and they are so gorgeous. i seriously want to be there even more

cool .

Yeah because the mark of a good intellectual community is the looks of the female population (for guys) and male population (for girls).

Thats exactly what makes an elite institution an elite institution. rolls eyes

Theres nothing wrong with wanting to attend a college that has an attractive student body. One of my close friends attended Carnegie Mellon and was miserable there because the school was not a good social fit. One of his biggest complaints was the lack of quality girls. Keep in mind, college is four years of your life.

Second, Vanderbilt is elite because of its academic reputation and top-notch professors. But it is unique in the sense that it is the only top 20 school where the majority of the girls are beautiful.

Most colleges have terrible dating scenes but Vanderbilt fosters these traditions (guys will often ask girls to dates at football games, etc). And theres nothing sexier than a girl who is stunningly beautiful, down-to-earth, and very intelligent.

false statement^. vanderbilt guys are like the guys everywhere. vanderbilt girls are also, and looks are just part of the package; it is a circular thing. if there are many pretty people in a club, you want to join because pretty people associate with other pretty people. then it generates on its own.

the elite institution title comes from the nerds in olin and stevenson who are working hard after hours, and the professors who work hard to help them. the rankings for the us news and world report are skewed because if you look at the criteria upon which it is based, none of it is really important. look at the graham-diamond rankings.

last comment; while you say they're beautiful, many have had plastic surgery lol

Completely agree cowboy.ed.

I married my college girlfriend. I think that is a reasonable argument for why having an attractive dating pool is important to the undergrad experience.

Because you married your college girlfriend? Why? Only because she was beautiful?

The argument of marrying the college girlfriend is only a good supplement to this argument if you only married her because she is beautiful. Otherwise, the campus as a whole could be ugly ducklings and you would have still found each other for other reasons and gotten married.

Furthermore, Yale used to be an all-male school, and they still had a significant amount of undergraduates/early graduate students who got engaged and married. Now was that because the campus community was so "like totally hot dude." I think not.

for the posters whining about looks that are probably ugly (please try not to take offense it's statistics!), and especially to cowboy's absolutely ridiculous notion that many vandy girls have had plastic surgery

there comes this natural association of having been bred southern for many generations...you are just god dang ridiculously good looking. the southern wimminz also happen to know how to carry themselves and dress well to make themselves appear even more "hot"!!

I know, crazy.

I do agree that the "elite" reputation comes from the rankings. Maybe, just maybe, we should kill the rankings and let some nerds come to Vandy and a lot of good looking fun southerners

Palmettotree, I think you are trying hard to keep anyone not like you from coming to Vandy. Fortunately, the majority of CC folks are more intellegent than you give them credit for being.

nerds=academic success=research develpment=money for university

therefore, if we are doing a proof, by the transitive property, nerds are what the university wants

and i personally know people who have had plastic surgery here, yes in sororities; don't assert things you have no idea about. additionally, we need a diverse group of people at vanderbilt, not a homogeneous group of people interested in the same things. That is what makes college such an interesting place to grow.

also it is really discomforting to know that one of our own is shallow enough to tell another that "you're probably ugly because you don't agree with me." try to be a little more open-minded and remember that this is for prospective students

graham is actually a vanderbilt grad:
Graham-Diamond Report

cowboy, OBVIOUSLY there are women here who have had plastic surgery. if you read my post i mentioned that the notion that "many" have is ridiculous.
