Various Tisch studios?

Boy the board chimed in and answered before I could. I think that you need to know if your son considers theater only acting; playwrights gives you the opportunity to see the whole picture rather than just a technique. My daughters only complaint is that there has not been enough movement for her liking, but she is a dancer. Good luck to you, and I really think that it is a gut check thing whats right for your son. He is lucky to have options. PHTS has been fantastic for my DD. All that she wanted from a BFA…

You guys are great - this is all very encouraging to a nervous mom!

Thanks, Alwaysamom. Yes, he’s still loving Fuerzabruta.

This appears to be an appropriate (though dated!) thread to post this. New news from DS yesterday. At the Atlantic Studio, NYU second year students (sophomores - which he is) typically spend the year focusing on broadening their acting techniques to work on film and television scripts, Shakespeare and other classical material (Chekhov, comedy and monologues, etc). However, DS got invited yesterday to be part of a third year (junior) ensemble cast, where he’ll learn the ropes of being in a production (Chekhov’s “Three Sisters”) for industry insiders, while getting prepared for the business and bringing all aspects of his work to a professional level. DS is totally stoked; as far as he knows, he’s the only sophomore that’s been asked to be in the ensemble.

I can’t say enough about the NYU Studios. They do provide the environment and opportunity for their students to flourish.
