Well, “Way late in December” sounds like a casual way of saying mid-December to me. When I called about the CSS/Profile date, they were pretty causal about the deadline as well, saying something to the effect of “Once it does get in some time around the date it’s OK.”
I suppose our anticipation and the laid-back manner of some of the admissions people is just not a good mix. Most likely everyone will know by this day next week!

Yeah, the admissions folks are really lax. It doesn’t help when we’re like, “UNDERSTAND MY PAIN.”

Just found out I was accepted to my safety school, haha. Wooo Florida State! I’m pretty confident that we are definitely going to find out BY December 15th. I hate the whole snail mail thing though. Finding out online would be better. I think? I’m not sure. Do we know if they send letters for denial and big packages for acceptance? Or letters for both? I’m seriously gonna die waiting for the mailman.

I don’t know. Thick envelope would be awesome, with all those hand outs and forms to go through… now those are forms I would enjoy filling out.

Craaaaaap. My guidance counselor hasn’t said anything about first quarter grades. I think if they wanted them they’d contact someone in the office and it’d get taken care of, but my school is so lax about this sort of thing. 500 seniors graduating this year and my guidance counselor has 250 of them … totally my luck, lol.

Any advice? Should I call or just wait it out?

Hm… I love the idea of a big package of Vassar forms, but the idea of walking in and seeing a tiny white envelope is almost enough for me to wish they would just do it through email. My friend had a funny idea today that colleges could show you their decision through facebook. If you got in you would get a friend request saying “Accepted wants to be your friend!” and if you didn’t you’d get one saying “Rejected wants to be your friend!”… Okay, in hindsight not so funny, but the image is pretty brutal.

senioryr2010, if it doesn’t show up as received on your commonapp, then I don’t think it would hurt to call. I had to call the admissions office for a problem with a recommendation being received and they were very nice and understanding. If nothing else it would give some peace of mind… which I think we’d all love to have right now!

i heard the NYU acceptance letter was thin last year - so a thin envelope can mean anything.

i think this is just a lame way of comforting myself…haha… I’M SO NERVOUS!!! my chances are slim already, but hopefully admissions officers will see my passion.

7 days!! - lucky number 7

Gambatte, Thanks, I guess I’ll just wait it out and see. My grades were all really high so I’m not at all worried if they do call for them because it’ll only help my application. I’m sure if they want them it’ll be taken care of. Jeez, I can’t stress about this too!! lol, I’m already so nervous about the decision. I can’t believe there’s a chance we could find out as soon as Saturday!! SKJFHKDSJFHSKD.

I’m not positive about the thick envelope or the thin envelope, but I heard through the grapevine that both acceptances and denials were in thin envelopes, as other information comes later… Wow! We’ll know by next Wednesday!!!

I thought you guys might want to see this: [Mads Vassar Blog](http://www.madsvassarblog.com/)

check out the first picture … I can’t wait until next year when we’re all at vassar (because we’re all going to be accepted) and can all go sledding/build harry potter snowmen in the snow. :)

Mads Vassar Blog is pretty awesome. I have been checking in periodically there and it’s really fun to see what’s going on. Traying and building Harry Potter snowmen would be AMAZING!!

Even if the thin envelope thing isn’t for sure, it has calmed me down a little. Now I won’t be SO afraid of my mailbox. 6 DAYS! =]

Hey, I’m Rani. I’m an ED1 applicant. I was okay until about halfway through last week and then I started freaking out. Internally, thankfully, since I was in class, but not a good feeling.

Mattsaysfierce–when I visited Vassar I sat in on the Queer Letters class! It was so awesome!

@Rani Was it? Ahh glad to hear it. Though of course, it’s Vassar; every class is bound to be awesome.

Sorry I haven’t been on in a while; I’ve had speech tournaments (which are awesome as London knows very well), auditions, rehearsals, and oh yeah, school. This is a very eventful week, and a nice big letter from Vassar would really be the icing on the cake right about now.

Hello Rani! And everyone I don’t know out there!

Just wanted to wish you all the best of luck in the admissions process!

~Brown EDer =]

Hey. I’m Sarah. I applied EDI too.
My mind is on nothing but that Vassar letter. I seriously think all of my free time has become devoted to stalking Vassar through their website and Mads. ahhhh

Good luck with Brown, Dramacratic! Brown was on my list but Vassar knocked it down to #2 for me, haha.

Hi to all the new kids! Anyone wishing to get connected over Facebook, just PM me your Facebook URL and I’ll add you. I feel like a stronger network we have, the more likely fate will have us all get into Vassar.

Matt same with me! Before the university tour around the U.S., Brown was my first choice! But after seeing Vassar, everything changed!

So, we can officially count down the number of days on one hand. I’m totally freaking out! My best friend finds out from Columbia today around 5pm (Yes, they sent an e-mail saying when they were going to e-mail decisions … I wish Vassar would do that!). I can’t believe it’s all about to happen! Every single one of my fingers is crossed for all of us. I almost want to call the admissions office and ask when they’re sending letters, but they probably won’t say for sure.
