So, I Just received my acceptance letter in the mail from the University of Richmond and I am having second thoughts on whether I should attend VCU, keeping in mind that I absolutely LOVED VCU.

The problem is that I was not accepted into the Engineering program at URichmond, but I did at VCU. Also, my GPA is good, but I am positive that there will be many that are better if I attend URichmond. With saying this, I believe that I will have more opportunities at VCU because I will be in the higher GPAs of the university. If I attend URichmond, I will be towards the middle or bottom.

The other thing is that I am under the pre-med track at VCU, but not at URichmond. I think that VCU offers many more classes for what I want to be. URichmond, because it is a small school, does not.

I know VCU has a pretty good engineering school and a top notch med program. Several of my teachers attended VCU and they’re all pretty good. Also, take a look at financials, UofR is much more expensive than VCU if you’re instate that is of course. Seems like the obvious choice for you would be VCU.

thats tough. richmond is a really well recognized school. but i has visited vcu before and i could see how one would like it, i really loved it in vcu and downtown richmond too!!! idk look thoroughly through the 2 schools. and see which one will get u to where u want to be in life. just cuz ur not in the engineering at richmond doesn’t mean ull be a step behind or anything(i dont think). but vcu is a good opportunity and if u liked the feel there more than i mean by all means go.

i am trying to weigh out the pros and the cons of each. While richmond may not be better known for the sciences as it is for the business school, i view it as a much more academically challenging school.

I am leaning more towards VCU because of my major.

idk, you bring up a valid point, if your looking for the academic challenge then i think richmond is the way to go. also i think richmond will bring more opportunities. good luck, and do regret your decision.
