How does Dartmouth do with vegan food? I know that Dartmouth -- like just about every school -- will mention "vegetarian options" in their literature about food on campus, but how does this really play out? I know Homeplate always offers a vegetarian (although not necessarily vegan) option and that Collis Caf

i don't know the about vegan options but i have a friend at UGA with her own mini-fridge where she keeps lots of food like soy milk and various veggies. so even if there aren't a lot of options, she can still have something.

I'm vegetarian and I have no problem whatsoever at D.

There are 4 salad bars on campus that I can think of, all of which will have plenty of things to satisfy vegan appetites.

Almost all prepared dishes have ingredients listed on the container, or on the cafeteria glass to let you know the ingredients. You can get gardenburgers (both vegan and vegetarian) at several places on campus. At Home Plate, there is a fruit and yogurt bar... while you may not eat yogurt, there are lots of fruits, nuts and other granola-type things to grab. At Collis Cafe, lots of the to-go items are vegan (indian food, vegan cutlet + pasta, other things I can't think of atm...). There is soymilk in every dining hall.

Hanna, what are you talking about? this thread is about food.

Holy cow -- I posted that in a different Dartmouth thread -- you can see the quote I was responding to in my post.

Clearly some kind of glitch. I'll see what happened in the real thread.

i was wondering about food too being a veggie myself, thanks drownindreams for the info

I'm curious - how much does an average meal cost at Dartmouth? Any food, vegetarian or not?

If I become anorexic, can I significantly cut down on board costs? To something affordable, at least?
